I.P.E.U. 119? Ice Cream or Parfait type design metal printing block letterpress
Howdy Folks, Hope all is well. Up for your viewing or auctioning pleasure is a printing block. The picture is of an ice cream type of glass so maybe a parfait? There is a mark on the face of the block and it is the I P E U mark with a number 119? There is some dried red ink that did not wash quickly so that will need more elbow work. Also some white specks on the block maybe corrosion? On the back of the block looks like some type of glue? or something of that nature and maybe dried caulk? There again I did not put much effort into cleaning it. No other marks. Since it is a used printing block there could be some scratches and scuffs and nicks. I used some soap and water with a soft brush to clean it up a little. However they will need to be cleaned better. Remember that it is used and will need a better cleaning. Conn. 06450- 88- 36 pt. 1 pkg of CAPS(Capital Letters) I originally purchased this type to use with hot foil stamping and later wanting to find out more about the type and letterpress printing. I found that there is quite an interesting history! Unfortunately it has come time to start unloading some with hopes that it will find a good home! This type is the same as any other American Founders Type. Only produced to have their own brand. I have used sets in both the Howard and Kingsley Hot Foil Stamping Machines and it is the same as other type I have. From the book.
