An exceptionnel ... moreand very rare blackletter type set. We have counted 223 pieces. We hope, that we did not make any mistake on counting, but you will see, what you get on the close-up photos below. As you will see on the detailed photos below. There are lower case, upper case, numbers, punctuation, diacritics(Umlauts) digraphs, accents- just all! We have not found even one character missing- we think it is a complete set. Each character measures 54 mm: 2.13 inch and 54 mm: 2.52 inch for those with descenders. We have removed some dust. But did no full cleaning. However, as you can see on the photos, the printing blocks are in an excellent condition, not used very often. The characters were stored up to now in drawers, this is a gorgeous and exceptionnel set of characters. Please be sure, that a carefull packaging will be done for the characters, so nothing will hurt the characters on transport. For detailed pictures see below. Conn. 06450- 88- 24 pt. 1 pkg of CAPS I originally purchased this type to use with hot foil stamping and later wanting to find out more about the type and letterpress printing. I found that there is quite an interesting history! Unfortunately it has come time to start unloading some with hopes that it will find a good home! They are the same as any other American Founders Type. Only produced to have their own brand. I have used sets in both the Howard and Kingsley Hot Foil Stamping Machine and they are the same as any other type I have. From the book. Howdy Folks, Hope all is well. Up for your viewing or auctioning pleasure is a printing block. The block is marked I.P.E.U. 295. The picture is of a Cardinal I think? not sure. It is the same bird as the other one I have listed but a different tree or berry bush. I used a flash it showed the dry ink on the block so it will need to be cleaned better. No other markings. Since it is a used printing block there could be some scratches and scuffs and nicks. I used some mild soap and water with a soft brush. However they will need to be cleaned better.
