Gerber Scientific Instruments produced what they called a Variable Scale and referred to it as a"graphical-numerical computing device" They went on to say on the first page of the Instruction Manual; It's development is so recent and it's applications so numerous. It was thought best to give some real idea to the engineer and scientist to whom the instrument is introduced of it's possibilities by illustrating but a few of it's basic applications with practical examples. This classic calculating instrument is in as new condition. The faux leatherette case is in almost perfect condition. The stitching is bright white. And uniform around the entire case. There is a small smudge on the top of the case on the right hand side. about 3/4" down from the top. It's very slight and it looks like it might have been ... moresome sort of adhesive residue, which might be able to be removed. Then the outside of the case would have to be classified as perfect. But I'll leave it to the successful bidder to attempt any cleaning of the case. The inside of the case is also in immaculate condition. The black felt on the inside flap, as well as the interior where the Scales sets, is also in excellent condition. There is a slight indentation on the ends of the black felt where the aluminum blocks contact the felt when the case is closed. The snaps do show signs of wear, and the plating is faded somewhat. The case measures 13" long x 2-3/4" wide x 1" deep. The Scale measures 12" long x 1-3/8 wide x 1/2" thick. The Scale itself is in as new condition as well. Czechoslovakia with matching numbered oak custom made original period rolltop case with brass handles and hardware. Condition is very good on polariscope and case. Hey gang. Here's the next 2 Tone Variable Tweety Bird desk mic off the workbench. This is a D104 TUG 8 Stand. The head face and backplates have only a very few micro scratches or specs. None will show in pics. The factory hammer gray painted base does have some scuffs and dings like these bases typically pick up over time. These I have touched up with a silver Sharpie Marker which is a good match. I find it always looks better to touch these marks up than to leave them alone and do nothing. The head label has the bottom left hand corner missing as shown in pic and the stand label has some wear but is all there and again took a close up pic for you. Has shiny cord spring. The black bottom plate felt is pretty good but it also has some wear but not bad- again looks good in the pic. The head contains an original MC320 cartridge that is loud, ... moreclean and clear and sounds just like it should. I throughly clean all the mics I put my Tweetys in and put a light coat of clear Meguiar's Wax on the base for a nice shine. I am rating the looks on this one as an easy 8.5 out of 10 and you may think it's even better. I try and be conservative on the ratings. These types of VCR are no longer made-with rotary heads and a variable speed that allows you to fully view your tapes at speeds you select. Slower or faster, along with still frame views. So I'm putting it up for any VCR buffs out there who might be looking for one of these extinct models. It comes with the official Panasonic service manual for any repairs needed.
