1800s Singe Sewing Machine was sold with one of these accessory boxes. Box is clearly stamped with the patent date— February 19. 1889 and contained the attachments for the Singer Sewing Machine. This fingerjoined box has a wonderful bright honey color. It’s 6 1/2” long x 3 1/4” tall x 3 1/3” deep. Easy to close, it just rolls up, snaps shut, and is lined with its original burgundy velvet. Velvet is in excellent condition but needs some dusting or however one cleans 100 year old velvet— color is strong and there are no splits or tears. Vintage Handmade NEEDLEPOINT PIN CUSHION Violets w/ Purple Velvet Sides & Bottom
This auction is for a handmade needlepoint pin cushion. Featuring a cluster of violets with deep purple velvet binding. Sides, and bottom. It measures approx. 6-1/2" in diameter and is 3" high. Years ago. In the 60's and 70's, I frequently shopped at a wonderful, upscale store on Fifth Avenue in NYC, by the name of Bonwit Teller. Bonwit's logo was a cluster of purple violets, which was used on everything. At that time, I was doing a lot of needlepoint, and one day I did a free-hand design of Bonwit's violets and stitched it over the next few days. I then had the piece finished with deep purple velvet to form a pin cushion. I haven't used it in years, having stored it in a drawer in a plastic bag. Somehow, over the years, a few of the stitches, that are scattered, have disappeared or disintegrated. Almost all ... moreare single stitches, but in one place, there are 4 stitches(in a small square) missing. All of these are almost unnoticeable, and it remains a charming piece of handmade needlepoint. I can ship within the US. Or to anywhere else in the world. This auction is for a lovely antique vintage soft cotton velvet/velveteen textile fragment. This was acquired with a lot of Victorian velvets. I am not absolutely certain of its age;this is not post-50s. It has a thin selvedge and its shade is not as it appears in photos. I could not capture the true color. It is not blue purple. I would say it is more of an"Easter egg" purple. It is not gaudy whatsoever and not a shade that is found that easily. The velvet's texture is so soft and pliable. It is lightweight. But not flimsy. It is perfect. There are no rips, tears or stains. It measures approximately 17" x- not a tiny fragment. This auction is for an interesting and rare antique French Victorian velvet ribbon fragment. It consists of a black velveteen ground with a cotton base(black) as shown in last two photos. It has a lovely cut-out pattern edging in a beautiful shade of rich purplish wine. It is not bright pink or purple. If this is important. Please think carefully before placing a bid, since all monitors are set differently. There are some slits on the edges and silk thread weakness throughout. Photo 6 shows this when held in the light. The remaining photos show the ribbon throughout in its natural state. The first photo has been taken in sunlight and may not be as intense in shade. This is not a lush velvet, but with a flatter pile;the lovely edging is somewhat thicker. It may possibly have silk fibers, due to the threadwear, and has a cotton base. You are bidding on: 19th Century Bird Motif Mohawk Beaded Pillow Starting about 1860 the Mohawks living on reserves near Montreal started creating picture frames and pincushions. Which were usually covered with purple velvet. In the 1890s the purple velvet was replaced with hot pink. The Mohawks carried the idea of raised beadwork to new levels with some flowers a full one and one-half inches above the surface of the fabric background. This example has raised beadwork.but not as high as one inch. Just about 3/8ths inch. It looks extremely similar to an example found at the Iroqouis Museum which you can see ... moreby clicking this link: Beadwork on front looks great and is fairly sturdy all around. The purple velvet is somewhat faded and worn. There is beading around the scalloped edge. But the right lower corner is bare. Some additional clear beaded tassels remain while others along the edge are gone. Backing is some sort of oil cloth. There's an old written inscription on it but can't make it out Stuffed with ground wood chips.not shavings or excelsior. There are a few small holes on back and two creases that have begin to split over time(see last photo) Still ~ a fine old example of 19th century Mohawk beadwork. A little repair or cutting of threads would help. Also has an old red ribbon attached. They're not really rivets but that's what they look like. They're stitched on. One right and one left legging. I think these are so awesome because they can basically be worn with any color robe. Condition is Very Good Very clean. Heavy velvet. The heel straps and hip straps are all good and well attached. Though a little wrinkled When the leggings are worn. Royal Purple Velvet with Yellow Embroidery and Brass Tassles. This collar is in good condition. I see one small spot of velvet loss above the P.C.P. There is some fraying around the inside edge. Definitely not a deal breaker. Tassles are good Measures 19 inches long before the tassles. The top is 1 3/4 inches wide. The bottom is 5 inches wide. The pictures really tell the whole story. Vintage Hawaiian Gown Dress HOT bright Floral Cotton/Purple Velvet halter lined
This colorful long dress is in nice condition. It does not have a label. But the fabric is vintage velvet& cotton, it is lined with satin. It is gently used, clean& has no rips, holes, or stains, slightly musty odor. It is 54" long from shoulder to bottom. It is sleeveless& I am not sure how to measure top. There are 3 hook& eyes at the neck in back and then it is slit down to waist. The front looks like a halter top& breast areas measure 8 1/2" wide on each side. Banded velvet empire waist area measures 13" across& has hooks& eyes that need some reinforcing stitches. There is an 8" metal zipper in back on skirt. The skirt is gathered at waist area& measures about 22" across hips& tapers out to 27" at bottom. Bright large mod flowers. Questions welcome. Antique Purple Velvet, Gold Silk Deltah Pearl Display Box
The Victorian's and their wonderful innovations! Here we have the display box for Deltah pearls. It is made of purple velvet on the front with additional yellow covered railing to the sides. It opens up to golden silk with snap to shut in and hold to display necklace; however. The necklace was long gone when I was able to purchase this box from one of my local antique stores! It measures 8" x 6" The interior 6 1/2" x 4" x about 1/2" In good antique condition, there is some wear to the velvet on the curved edges. It can lay flat for traveling or it can be unsnapped on the reverse bottom and used as a stand for displaying. It so reminds me of something from Titanic! Late Victorian. OES Order of the Eastern Star Vintage Rhinestone Tiara Purple Velvet Sash + More
This auction is for a very nice collection of Order of the Eastern Star memorabilia. 1) Rhinestone Tiara- Silvertone metal. Adjustable band, filigree designs, clear rhinestones, star made entirely of aurora borealis rhinestones. No missing stones, most are clear, bright and shiny. Measures 4 1/4" high at center. 2) Black vinyl carrying case with OES emblem on top. Red vinyl interior. Sticker from"Masonic Supply Co. Inc. of Philadelphia. Name of original owner imprinted on label stuck inside. Case has a few scuffs on exterior, mainly on top. I have not attempted to polish. Inside is clean with no odors. 3) Purple velvet sash embroidered in gold stitching with vine work and crossed gavels. Star at the top and bottom. Gold fringed at bottom. White satin on reverse side with snap closure. 4) Reversible"Member" badge with gold ... morefringed bottom. Five colors on one side. Black on other. Gold imprint is faded on colored side. Silver imprint is clearly visible on black side. 5) Five-color cord with attached OES emblem or jewel. Very nice condition. These are used items. Being sold in"as-is" condition.
