Description: Antique Chinese silver scent or perfume pouch. This piece is profusely embroidered on both sides. The figural decoration is the same in the front and back showing a double gourd in the middle flanked by what seem to be a frog. A salamander and two insects. Done in metallic silver and gold thread with accents of red. Green and purple the embroidery is beautiful with only a few loose stitches here and there. The original draw strings with generous tassels are 12 1/2" long while the pouch itself(drawn as you see it) is 3 3/4" tall by 3 1/8" wide. You are viewing a very charming wallet pouch made of silk. I thought at first it was suede. It looks and feels just like it, but it is silk. This is a three part wallet which folds in on itself. The pattern is beautifully embroidered appliqué work and it looks to me like this may be a frog on a lily pad. The inside pocket is made of a pretty green and blue floral fabric. Offered for sale is a beautiful antique vintage totally embroidered on silk 2 handled purse. Pouch, hand bag that I purchased about 15 years ago at an estate auction in New Baltimore, Virginia- I purchased it for myself to use but just never got around to using it.I am moving and am now selling some of my personal things. I have shown both sides of the silk embroidery- Both sides have a white bird.The bracelet handles are of pink Peking? glass- Lining inside looks to be a cotton material Length- top of bottom is 13.5" with a bottom width of 10.5" Pouch bag is in good condition except one of the glass bracelet handles has damage on both side of one area- This damaged area can be rotated to the bottom and will not be seen- This is how I planned on using it NO holes. Rips, or tears- NO unsavory odors Very delicate embroidery!

You are viewing a vintage Chinese pouch/purse with the remnants of a paper label. Most of the stitching is in the'Forbidden Stitch' method. As well as satin stitch. It appears to me that the stitching is not directly onto the silk fabric itself, but rather appliquéd on, as there is a stenciled pattern showing. There are a few stains, and there are three pockets as well as two pretty, long tassels. Measurement of actual purse is 5 1/4" x 4 1/2" I have taken several photos which can be enlarged.
