For sale is a rare set of vintage Fly Fishing Flies(1967) made by John Alevras for James T. Gray. The four flies a flat winged fly. Grasshopper, Nymph and a Green Leaf Roller. The vintage flies look like they have never been used and were made by one fly fishing ledgend for another. The flies were aquired from a recent auction of Mr. James T Grey Estate. Mr. Gray was an author of several prominent books that include"Salmon Rivers of Cape Breton Island" and"Handbook for the Margaree" was an icon in the fly fishing industry. Grey a life-long resident of Bucks County PA was a member of the New York Anglers Club and a long time director of the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum. The Flies will include the two hand writen letters from John Alevras to James T. Gray. The first letter was written in 1967 offers some advice ... moreon how to best use the flies: Dear Mr. Grey, To be asked to add ones' flies to a collection such as yours is one of the niciest compliments I could ever receive. I just hope the four flies enclosed will be a satisfactory addition to your collection and possibility to some future success on days astream. It is an exciting fly to use in August and September when something a little different is often necessary for a successful day. There are lots of pockets on these pants- 2 side waist pockets. 1 small zip pocket on hip, 2 front thigh cargo pockets with velcro, 2 back pockets with velcro, 1 small back leg pocket with another pocket inside of that with velcro closure- perfect for carrying your cell phone! There is a snap and zip closure on the front along with an adjustable belt. These pants have zippers that unzip to turn the pants into shorts. Up for auction is this vintage industrial 8 inch enamel lamp shade in chippy used condition! The shade has a charcoal gray exterior and a white interior. It comes complete with chips and scratches to the enamel as well as some rust on the edges. There is also a cool serial number on the outside that I haven't seen on these before.
