Vintage Marx Rock Island 99 Set of 3 Locomotives A-B-A O-Gauge TESTED& RUNNING! This set of 3 Rock Island locomotives is very hard to find all together and running! It’s postwar vintage Lois Marx and consists of the powered A unit. And unpowered B unit, and a dummy A unit. The powered unit is tested and running in both forward and reverse. I spent a few minutes“de-fuzzing” it and I put a drop of oil on the critical points. But it would like to be gone through more thoroughly. I think a few minutes investment would improve performance, but it runs the way it is. Evidently this was someone’s Christmas train as one time because there was tinsel wrapped around the gear. Once that was removed in the“de-fuzzing” it ran okay and it will run better with a little work. I’ll bet it has been in a box since whenever that Christmas was… It needs a ... morelight bulb in the front. But the socket and wiring look okay. I just didn’t have one the right size to put in it to test it. Cosmetically it’s missing 2 rear steps and the horns, and a screw on the underside may be a replacement. The unpowered middle B unit is in good shape. It took me a minute to figure out the couplers between all the locomotives since they only couple one way. But that’s my stupidity and they work fine. Cosmetically one step is missing. The trailing dummy A unit is in about the same condition as the others. One step is missing along with one horn. They would all like a few minutes with a soft cloth for the dust. But I’ve learned my lesson about cleaning vintage items so I’ll leave that to you should you care to do it. I won’t attempt to use the grading scale. Please see the pictures for a more complete description and in case I’ve missed or forgotten to mention something. And please don’t hesitate to ask questions or for more pictures if you can’t see something. I’m happy to help, but perhaps not the best photographer. Vintage Console Scott Set Tested Powers on Model 510 165 Watts
Very nice Scott tube console unit. 165 watt mono amp, AM& FM tuner, record player with GE cartridge, and what looks to be a 12" Jenson speaker. Powers up. Tuner tuned in a few stations, record player turns and speed changes appear to work. Nice looking GE cartridge that has switchable double sided needles for 78 rpms or 33/45 rpms. Cabinet is a little rough with scratches and finish peeling on the feet and lower trim. I did not do any further testing. But was surprised when it powered up fine since I bought it for the desirable parts. So I decided to list it as a whole first for someone who might want to spruce it up and use it.
