Vintage Thermal Engineering Company Temp Check
This came from an estate sale. I installed a new D battery in it and the needle went the wrong direction. I turned the battery around the other way and then the needle went in the right direction. I could not get the sensors to register with the needle in any probe. Comes with three low temperature probes. You can probe up to six different thermometers with this machine if it were working. It registers in to different scales. The first goes from-50 to 100 and the second scale goes from 100 to 400. Degrees Fahrenheit. This could be a nice project for someone who understands electronics. I obviously don't. When I had it apart and installed the battery I checked it over pretty carefully and it doesn't look too complicated. If I had to make an educated guess I would think the problem lies with the calibration dial rheostat. There may ... morehave been some battery acid leaked onto it. The only other moving part is the selector switch and it looks like it's in really good condition. This little tool comes in a nice steel box that is in pretty good condition.
