The entire unit is approx. 30’ in length and consists of 4 main parts.The 1 st part being the“potato hopper” which shuffles the newspapers around as they climb the paddle belt and drop onto a conveyor which is the 2 nd part. The 3 rd part is the shredder unit. The shredder is a Rotochopper 1090 and is run by a Weg 30hp 3-phase electric motor. From the shredder the paper is fed into a modified 336 John Deere baler which is the 4 th part. The baler is run by a Weg 15hp 3-phase electric motor. I’ve been told both of these motors could be switched out for single phase motors and still work the same. The paper bales are adjustable in size just like if you were baling hay with it. The weight of a bale comparable to that of the same size ... moreas a normal 3’4’ bale of hay is about 90 pounds. There is no kicker on the baler.We’ve been using this method of chopping paper for 10+ years now. We used the paper bedding in our own cow barn and have also sold it to other farmers. I’ve had the bedding listed on the internet for sale before. And have had numerous people contact us for large tractor trailer size loads, but we just didn’t have an economical way of shipping it large distances. They were mostly farmers or farm supply/pet stores. We’ve never had any major problems with the unit, just normal wear. Our main reason for selling is that we lost our paper supplier and it’s just easier at this point to give it up versus find a new paper supply,since we no longer milk cows. The function buttons are in good condition and all words and numbers are visible. The paper feeder and CD/credit card feeder are in good condition with no dents or cracks.
