Rare Vintage Olympus GH Microscope With Original Box and Accessories
Rare Olympus GH microscope. Olympus started manufacturing microscopes in 1919 and this model. GH or Shin-Asahi-Go, is the second model made by Olympus in the 1920's.Cast iron base. Brass tube, fine and coarse focus knobs. The tube is etched with"Olympus" Tokyo, No. 21006. Under the square stage is a circular piece that rotates to change the size of the hole allowing different amounts of reflected light through for viewing. Both objectives(not attached in the photo) are Leitz#3 and#7. The eyepiece on the scope is a#1(no maker) the other being a Leitz#3. The original box is dovetailed on the top and bottom. Felt lined with spaces for the objective, eyepiece and slide boxes. Brass handle and diamond shaped keyhole. 12 1/2" X 7 3/4" X 7 1/2" Focus knobs work well and the reflecting mirror is in good condition. Square ... morestage shows a little wear on either side where the slides are slipped under the clips. Brass tube shows some wear or discoloration but there are no scratches.
