The washer came with a Tecan Genesis Workstation 150 liquid handler which was said by the agency that surplused it to be in working condition. So presumably the washer is as well. I did get an error message early on when I was playing with it. But considering it is hooked up to nothing that doesn’t surprise me. And I was able to poke around a bit in the various menus and the thing does seem like it should probably be functional. But beyond what you see in the pictures and what I have described it is untested and NO warranty is offered. However. IF you pay the asking price and find it has a problem you cannot live with within 14 days of receipt you may return it. Returns are ONLY allowed on Buy It Now Purchases. Product Description Molecular Devices Max Line Microplate Washer 4845-02 This microplate washer has three hoses on the back for wash fluid. Rinse fluid and waste outlet, and a row of 12 dispensers on an overhead rack for washing the wells of a microplate. It can take plates in either orientation(12 wells wide or 8 wells wide) and can be set to rinse only a specified number of rows. One of the 12 wash nozzles is missing but might be replaceable, it's hard to tell whether it snapped off or just fell out of the socket. Two different types of wash cycle can be set, one with soak times of 0, 2, 5 or 10 seconds and from 2 to 5 cycles or one with soak times of 60, 90, 150 or 180 seconds and from 1 to 4 cycles. There are also buttons for setting the unit to disp/asp, prime/rinse, or slow rate modes. A start/stop button is on the top. On the back ... moreis a power switch and a power connector for a standard computer-style power cord; a power cord is not included. It takes 115V. How the unit was tested: When tested with a borrowed power cord the unit's displays all lit up and it responded to button presses. But starting a cycle resulted in only a brief humming. Investigation revealed that the small rubber belt that drives the microplate support tray is loose and wasn't engaging well; when the support tray was manually nudged along the unit went through pump cycles correctly. However, it was unable to suck wash fluid or rinse fluid all the way up the tubes; it appears that there may be leaky seals somewhere in the system. Because of these flaws the unit will either require some repairs and adjustments before use, or it can instead be used as a source of spare parts. I pushed the two arrows going in different directions and a piece above the black plate(looked like a comb made of metal) went down and then back up. I did get an error message early on when I was playing with it. But considering it is hooked up to nothing that doesn’t surprise me. And I was able to poke around a bit in the various menus and the thing does seem like it should probably be functional. But beyond what you see in the pictures and what I have described it is untested and NO warranty is offered. However.
