Offered above is a matrix with a Phanocrinus. A Crinoid of the Mississippian Period found in the Chesterian Zone of the Bangor Limestone Formation(ca 325,000,000 years old) in northern Alabama. Please note the attached Stem running directly into the Basal Plate where part of the Calyx is missing. Kind of nice and rarely seen.
