Italian leather beautiful designs decanter amber brown glass bottle from estate
I recently purchased this beautifully designed. Etched leather covered decanter at an estate. It is described on my invoice as an Italian Leather Decanter. It has the leather over the amber/brown color glass. The lid is attached w/ a loose chain type piece. I am not sure of the exact age and was unable to get any history on it. So, please look at the 7 photos uploaded and hopefully you can tell more about it. I took pictures of all sides/angles, including top and bottom. It also has a piece attached on the bottom that has numbers printed on it as you will see in one of the picture's. It is approximately 10 inches tall with the lid and measuring the bottom, side to side, it measures approximately 4 1/4 inches. It looks to be in good, used condition. The division was renamed WheatonProducts in 1973. In 1967 Wheaton made reproductions of old American bottles. So that these reproductions would not be confused with the originals. NO CHIPS OR CRACKS.IN THE CENTER WITH THE CLEAR GLASS THERE IS A BEAUTIFUL CANDLE AND THE WORDS'SEASONS GREETINGS' ON THE BACK IT SAYS THE CHRISTMAS CANDLE THE SOFT GLOW OF CANDLELIGHT ON CHRISTMAS EVE IS A REMINDER TO ALLTHAT CHRIST IS THE'LIGHT OF THE WORLD' THE OUTSIDE OF THE BOTTLE HAS AN IRIDESCENT LOOK ADORNED WITH HOLLY LEAVES AND BERRIES. Item: This is a Window Sill bottle made by the Clevenger Brothers Glass Company of Clayton. NY. It was made in the 1930's early 1940's. There are NO markings on this piece. Condition: Very Good condition. With only a few minor scratches, NO chips or cracks. Other information: This bottle comfortably holds a pint of liquid. It is 5.25 inches tall. About 6 inches wide, and about 2.5 inches thick. Purple Banjo Art Glass by Clevenger Brothers Glass Works which was located in Clayton New Jersey. Authentic early American glass. American Made, mouth blown, hand-tooled finished South Jersey glass. Shape and color varied from batch to batch, including the impurities of yesteryear bubbles, batch stone and cord.
