This is a circle of crocheted antique lace that is 40 inches around. From the top of the band to the bottom of one of the points is 4 inches. The color is a soft antique cream color. There are no stains or unraveling spots. It looks hand made to me. But I know little about lace. I think this piece is meant to trim the waist line or hips. The flower and square pattern is very pretty. The Mexican Eagle, flags and decorative eyelets were all favored motifs during the Mexican Revolution period. Time had stood still in this large Georgian house(I have posted a photograph of the house at the bottom of each listing of items acquired from this estate) And diaries and household accounts gave insight into a bygone age of spectacular house parties and entertaining on a grand scale. Amongst the treasures I am listing this week are several pieces of wonderful 19 th century lace. Some lovely Victorian costume items, quilts and linen. From a Shropshire country house estate. these 3 delightful 1920s items- 2 collars and one lace belt or possible petticoat bodice- were found together wrapped in tissue paper. Beautiful, intricate and delicate antique (machine) lace collar, belt? trim?
I'm pretty sure this is a a piece of early machine lace- but it's very pretty indeed. I can't quite make up my mind whether it was used around the yoke of a blouse. Or around the waist where it would have looked very nice. I'll describe it as closely as possible and add some close-up pictures. It measures 33 inches long by 5 inches wide. With pale blue tape at both ends and four little hooks which were clearly used to hold it in place for its original purpose. It has been extended at some point from an original 25 inches, by the addition of some 8 inches of lace which have been stitched on(i.e.33 inches in total) Protruding from the lower edge are a couple of little extra motifs. I have no idea why. I thought at first it was damage, but they are extras, cut from another piece. The design is extremely pretty. There are, however, ... morea very few loose threads and some discolouration at the top edge. Lots of possible uses for this from trimming doll's clothes, to period costume. It would also look rather good stitched across a pair of decorative cushions. International customers are most welcome but please note that you should be able to pay by Paypal.

Jacket and Rhinestone Belt Sz M click picture to enlarge An elegant 1920s or 1930s luscious lavender pink lace art deco evening gown with novel jacket and rhinestone studded belt. This lavender lace evening gown and jacket is simply lovely. The styling is all art deco with luscious lavender lace material and clean fluid lines. And the look is softly feminine. The color is beguiling- in some lights it looks purple and in some light it looks pink and so I am calling it lavender pink. The dress comes with a separate silk satin or rayon bias cut slip with spaghetti straps in a paler shade of lavender pink, each strap of which snaps onto the shoulders of the dress with one little popper and prevents those pesky shoulder straps from being seen when the dress is worn. The lace dress is semi-sheer ... moreand has a high cowl neck in the front and a daring low V back with a square bottom just below the shoulder blades, and has several snaps and one hook and eye on the seam under the left arm for fastening and to ensure a waist hugging fit. The slip underneath also has a high front and a low back to match the dress. The tops of the arms are just covered by fluttery little cap sleeves. The lace material is bias cut in a stylized floral that is all art deco in design, and I believe it to be rayon or silk. The dress hugs the figure as only a bias cut can do, especially the hips and derriere, but at the same time the bias cut smooths the profile in the most flattering way. The deep copper color is still vibrant and the copper seed beads are still sparkley. As you can see by the pics, the damage is to the sheer silk bodice. The lace trim and beading on the sleeves are good, no holes in the lace and all the beading seems to be in place. The lace on the bodice front is also in good condition with no holes, this lace is still strong. The sheer overskirt has about 4-6 holes ranging in size from pinhole to one about a 1/2" The lace on the overskirt and the bottom of the underskirt is also strong and good. This is a lovely blue Alencon lace dressing gown or robe from the 1940's. The color is a pretty blue not gray as in some pictures. The robe has long lace ties at the neck. There is a snap at the neck and there are belt loops and a long blue 3 5/8 inch wide moire rayon tie belt with fringe at the ends. The long sleeves have the same wide moire just above the ends. The sleeves also have snaps to make them tight fitting. The blue lace contrasts to the robin egg's blue belt. Measurements are bust 34 inches. And robe hangs open slightly, 58inch length and sleeve length is 25 inches.The robe is in excellent condition with no holes or pulls found.
