This is an older Norman LH2000 studio strobe flash head. Here is the story. I have 4 of these Norman flash heads. Back in the day these were my main studio flashes. I am the second owner, I knew the first owner and let's just say that he was not overly kind to his equipment. They clearly took a bit of a beating over the years that he had them. They are scratched, scraped and ugly. That's the bad news. The good news is that they work perfectly. As indeed Norman strobes always do! With the possible exception of Speedotron, these were the most rugged and durable strobes you could buy. You could drop them down a flight of stairs and they would still work. As a matter of fact these look like they were dropped down a flight of stairs. Just kidding! What you get is plenty of good clean power.
