This is a lot of 6 vintage flat tumblers. 4 in yellow and 2 in black. The black tumblers are clear glass with a wide straight paneled optic and a black foot. The yellow tumblers have a yellow tint throughout the glass with a yellow a foot, and a wide straight paneled optic. Though similar, the yellow glasses are slightly shorter, but wider with a rounded shape. BEAUTIFUL HOCKING GLASS BLOCK OPTIC 12 OZ. TUMBLER FLAT GREEN VASELINE URANIUM
This is a very nice depression glass 12 oz. Tumbler with flat bottom in the Block Optic pattern by Hocking Glass. It is green uranium glass and glowa nicely in black light. The tumbler is 4 7/8" tall and 2 3/4" across at opening. All pieces are in very good condition with no chips. Cracks or damage, may have some light scratching from normal use. My pictures are part of my description, so be sure to look at them carefully and ask any question that you might have before bidding. Thanks for looking. Vintage Depression Glass Green Block Optic Tumbler– Flat 3 ¾” You are bidding on a Vintage Depression Glass Green Block Optic Flat Tumbler by Anchor Holding. This pattern is from the 1930’s. The tumbler measures 3 ¾” in height. It is in excellent condition. There are no chips or cracks. There are a few air bubbles and hay marks but that is typical for depression glass. This listing is for an Authentic. Depression Era Hocking Block Optic Creamer and Sugar Set in Green. The pattern came with five different styles of cream and sugars, this set has a flat bottom with rounded handles. Block Optic was introduced by Hocking in 1929 and discontinued in 1933. The pattern features vertical optic panels and horizontal rings creating rows and columns of square blocks. The uranium salts used production of the green really pop under UV light. The creamer measures 2 1/2" high and 4 1/8" across the spout and handle. The sugar measures 2 1/2" high and 5 1/4" across the handles. Combined the set weighs 1 lb 3.1 oz. Both pieces are free of chips. Cracks and fleabites. There are no notable marks from use or storage on the pieces. The glass is wonderfully clear. Vintage Statuesque Nude Cambridge Amber Flat Bottom Optic Ivy Ball Clear Stem PAYMENT IS DUE IN THREE DAYS OR LESS Cambridge Glass Statuesque Nude/ Optic Ivy Ball Although I am not up on this line of Cambridge Statuesque 3011. I did a lot of research on this Ivy Ball because of it's unusual ribbed ball. The ball is done in"Optic" There are ten ribbed sections on this ball. Wider in the center and smaller at the top and bottom. The ribs cannot be felt from the exterior, only from inside the ball. I also found that the flat bottom ball, which this is, was earlier than the rounded ones, and much harder to find. I have pasted two paragraphs below from a blog about Statuesque 3011 items. You will find references to plain and optic colors. Everyone knows what a plain color is but some may need an explanation to know what optic means. In the 1930’s, glassware with optic patterns were in vogue. Instead of a solid plain color, an optic pattern divided the glass into vertical panels. This photo shows a Heatherbloom Claret with an optic pattern. The Cambridge Glass Company used several optic patterns in their glassware including vertical panels, a honeycomb pattern, etc. This is the one they used in some of the nude stems. If you see a nude stem glass with an optic pattern, you will know that it was early manufacture. The optic patterns were phased out in the 1940s. REFERS TO THE SCARCITY OF THE FLAT BOTTOM: Most all of the ivy ball vases were made with the same 4.5 inch diameter spherical vase. However. Some of the early vases were made with a flat bottom as shown here. We can only speculate that they may have adapted an existing mold for this purpose, and later replaced with a spherical globe mold.
