Need to sell- we don't have room! This Ingersol Rand heavy-duty air compressor is from a time when things were built solid. Built tough, and built to last. She makes a lot of air and will fill 5 AL 80 scuba cylinders in about 20 minutes. We've taken her to 4000 PSI and have heard that 4500 PSI is not a problem for this tough compressor. Single-phase drive motor. 240 volts, needs 50 AMPS to start. Has 3 drive belts from motor to compressor. Belts are in good shape but need to be tightened. Air outlet is a 1/4" flare nipple but can be configured in any way you like. All threads are NPT. Gauge on the outlet reads about 200PSI low and should be replaced. Has a water cooled jacket system to cool the compressed air before the coalescer. One of the jacket tubes leaks. We attempted a repair and was reminded that we are SCUBA guys and ... morenot welders. It only effect the cooling of the compressed air and not the air itself. We planned on building a reroute cooling system to bypass this feature. There are 2 re-packable filter towers. We repacked one time and realized it's a real pain as filtration media is getting harder to find. We filtered downstream from these towers and didn't really use them. We used this compressor in our dive shop for about 2 years. We purchased a newer compressor that better suits our needs. A lot of air has been consumed out of this old workhorse and we never had a problem other than an occasional tripped breaker. There's really no way to ship this iron beast as we don't have a forklift or crane at our shop. We prefer you to pick it up but. If you're in the Southeast and there's good diving nearby we could be persuaded to deliver. For sale is a Kaeser ASD 40 S 40HP Direct Drive Rotary Screw Air Compressor. With Kaeser's one-to-one drive. The airend is directly connected to the motor via a maintenance-free coupling that eliminates transmission losses. Kaeser’s direct drive screw compressors deliver outstanding performance and increase energy savings. Kaeser uses oversized airends specifically selected to produce the required output in flow and pressure. Compared to compressors using small, high-speed, gear-driven airends, the one-to-one drive provides significant savings. This is a great machine that has been well-maintained since new. It is clean overall and it runs very cool. It is also very quiet. It should have many years of trouble-free life left in it! It had a new Sigma controller installed in January of 2012. The hours are currently showing 3073 run hours ... moreand 743 load hours. The compressor ran about 2000 hours a year. With about a quarter of those hours under load. So the hours on the compressor before the new Sigma display was installed were somewhere around 20,000 run hours and 5,000 load hours or so, next to nothing on a machine designed to go 100,000 hours before the airend bearings need to be serviced.
