Maytag Model 72 twin cylinder gas engine hit and miss Complete Spark Compression
A uction is for a Maytag Model 72. Engine was previously restored. Purchased from previous owner who restored it years ago and was stored in the garage. Engine is free. Has compression and spark. The plug wires are fragile and one is now severed but I did get spark on each side before breaking one of the plug wires. Has exhaust flange and pulley. A complete engine that shouldn't take much to get off and running in my opinion. Suspect new wires and fresh oil/fuel mixture may be all that it'll take but that is only a presumption. No breaks or welds. Serial 968716. Selling as is and as shown to the continental US 48 states only. The kicker will be removed for shipping purposes. This engine will be packed VERY well. Webster Hit And Miss Antique Stationary Gas Engine Magneto
Nice loose all original Webster 2 magnet magneto type K. Originally this mag was tagged K8 and came off a Waterloo gas engine but will fit any K Webster bracket. Mag has good bolt holes and is barn fresh. I have not tested it but everything looks good. A nice original single cylinder mag.

This is a really nice original Fairbanks Morse gear guard. It was used on the spark plug fired 3hp Model Z engines with the Fairbanks R rotary magneto and possibly the 6hp as well. Old WATERLOO GAS ENGINE CO Pump Jack Hit Miss Steam Tractor Magneto Oiler NICE!
This is a very hard to find original Waterloo Gas Engine Company belt driven pump jack. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except for two small cracks as I've pointed out in the photos. It has most of its original green paint on it and is covered with grease just like it left the farm! Everything seems to work as it should and there doesn't seem to be much wear anywhere on it. It has the original wooden uprights and cross tie on it. This would look great powered by a hit and miss engine pumping water at the shows! Old HOCKING VALLEY 2-HOLE Corn Sheller Hit Miss Gas Engine Steam Tractor Magneto
This is a very hard to find original 2-hole Hocking Valley corn sheller. It is in old. Used condition and needs some sturdying up or new wood but it does work just the way it is. It stands about 42 inches tall and has a nice cast iron flywheel on it. The bottom wooden feet are missing and the top wood needs to be replaced. Also, one side of the blower housing is missing as well as most of the sheet metal shroud for the fan. All of these should be fairly easy replacements. It has a little bit of original paint and lettering on it. It has very little wear in the bearings and I don't think it was used very much. It has been sitting in a Wisconsin dairy barn for many decades and that's probably how it weathered the way it did. There is a very old weld repair on the hand crank and there is a shaft where you could put a pulley and run it ... morewith an engine. Original OTTAWA Binder Hit Miss Gas Engine Flywheels Steam Tractor Magneto Oiler
This is an original pair of flywheels on the crankshaft for an Ottawa or Warner binder hit and miss or throttle governed gas engine. They are in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. They measure 2 x 17 inches. The pinion gear is pitted a bit but should be usable. These flywheels measure true. The crankshaft is pitted a bit but with some polishing should be usable especially at the low speed that these engines run. The governor collar and weights are included but they are stuck and don't move. I'm sure with a little heat and patience they would free right up. The original belt pulley and mounting plate is on the off side flywheel These flywheels would also work great for a freelance engine project. These don't turn up very often so don't miss them. Old Brass Bosch DU4 CCW Horseless Carriage Magneto Hit Miss Gas Engine HOT!!
This is a real nice original and VERY hard to find Bosch DU4 magneto with COUNTER CLOCKWISE rotation. It has an all brass body and is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. It has a 23 tooth drive gear on it an turns over nicely with excellent magnetic pull. It has almost no noticeable wear in the bearings. It has been gone through by a VERY reputable magneto shop and cleaned, recharged, adjusted, and reassembled. It mounts on a 2 inch square bolt pattern. It puts out a hot, FAT, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is set up properly. It has one small chip on an ear of the distributor cap which doesn't affect it's performance, only cosmetics. It has the original points cover on it with the stud in it to hook up a ground wire. These early brass bodied magnetos were used on early automobiles ... moreand tractors. The counter clockwise rotation models are almost impossible to find in the wild or even at swap meets so if you've been looking for one here's your chance. When they do turn up they usually require several hundred dollars worth of repair work. Not this one! It's ready to be put to work on an engine or put on the shelf as a spare. Here's a neat hollow cast aluminum ball that's approximately 4" in diameter/8-1/2" overall length. It has a square shaft on the end with a hold for a pivot pin. There's a piece of the broken female hinge attached. But the ball and shaft themselves are ok. Not sure on the original application but I'd guess its from a steam or stationary engine governor. Very nice original Alamo 1 horse power magneto bracket in good condition. The bracket has the part number 303M51 in raised cast letters. Which according to Wendell's book is for a 1 HP. Alamo. There is a small chip in the bracket where the movable shaft enters the bracket. The shaft is tight with very little play. The points also look very nice. This bracket is for a Webster magneto and the mounting holes for the mag are 2 inches center to center x 1 1/2 inches center to center. The mounting holes to the engine are 2 3/4" from center to center. Everything works and moves as it should. No cracks, breaks or welds. I will gladly combine shipping when ever possible. You are bidding on the chance to own a very rare. Michigan built engine. It is 90% there. The real hard stuff to find is here. Block is good, no freeze cracks or welds. Rocker arm has been welded, but it is an old and good repair. Head looks good. Very nice rod and piston. Carburetor will need to be welded, one ear is broke, have the piece) Nice crankshaft and flywheel. The engine takes an FX1 Bosch magneto, which are very plentiful and relatively inexpesive. Good gearing, and good looking brass crank bearings. Valve cage is there, but cracked, I have a new recast cage in the picture that goes with it, and you have the old one to go by for machining purposes. Nice original Maximotor nameplate. Maximotor engines were only built for about one year! If you collect Michigan built engines, or oddball engines in general this is one you probably ... moredon't have. I can deliver this engine to Portland, IN or Coolspring, PA shows and swaps in 2015 for $25 fuel charge. I can also deliver to Fastenal for shipping, on a pallet for $25 as well. Very nice original Fairbanks Morse model"R" magneto in excellent condition complete with impulse and gear. The gear has 35 teeth and the teeth are in very good condition. The gear is about 3 11/16 inches in diameter. Also the gear has an impulse and trip on the backside of it which works very well. This magneto came on several different models of Fairbanks Morse model"Z" engines. I believe this magneto came on the 10 horse power"Z" I'm sure that if you wanted to remove the gear it could be replaced to fit all of the other model"Z's" The magneto is in exceptionally nice shape. The pot metal housing and end cover are very nice with no age cracking. The bearings are tight with no play. It has very good spark just turning it by hand. Everything works and moves as it should. Stover model T 4.5HP hit miss engine on cart - very nice original condition
Stover Model T hit/miss engine- tagged Bracket. Shaw, and Lunt. Dated from mid-teens. VERY nice original condition, all original paint, traces of original hopper decal visible, original brass tag there and 100% intact. Engines starts easily and will run all day. Fired by a Webster low-tension mag and internal points. Bearings are tight, compression is strong, engine sits on a heavy steel custom built cart with cast iron wheels. Water jacket and head had a minor crack in them, about 2" long. I v'd the crack out and drilled the ends, cleaned it with acetone, and patched the crack with Fasteel. Very hard to see, doesn't leak, doesn't affect the engine's function in any way at all. Has original muffler and period correct brass oiler, may original, but I have no way of telling. Engine is VERY heavy. Probably 1500+ lbs with ... morethe cart. Pick up in Monroe, CT.

Old 4hp DOMESTIC Sideshaft Hit Miss Gas Engine Motor Steam Tractor Ignitor WOW!
This is an old 4 horsepower Domestic sideshaft hit and miss gas engine. It is a true hit and miss gas engine. It has been through a fire but has survived quite well. Everything seems to be loose and moves as it should. There are no cracks. Breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of other than the gear guard over the gear on the crankshaft. Both of the sideshaft gears look to be in great shape. Other than needing new babbitt bearings, springs, a serial tag and some small miscellaneous items it should be a pretty straightforward project. The piston is loose in the cylinder and the cylinder should be great after a light honing. The brass rod bearing has some melted babbitt in it but the brass looks great. It has the original crank guard and muffler which are almost always missing. The flyheels measure true so the crankshaft appears to be straight. ... moreIt is spark plug fired and will need a Wico magneto which was lost in the fire. It shouldn't take much work at all to make noise with it! All in all this is a pretty nice project engine that won't require several hundred dollars of parts or machine work! Original PERU WATERLOO Hit Miss Gas Engine Cart Truck Steam Tractor Magneto WOW
This is a very hard to find original set of horse trucks for a hit and miss gas engine made by the Peru Plow Company in Peru. Illinois. They were used under Waterloo engines and many other companies as well. The wheels measure 34 and 26 inches in diameter with a 4 inch face and are in great condition and roll very nicely. It is in great condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. It needs new wood for the pole. It is is ready to be put to use under an engine just as it is. There is some pitting on some of the steel but nothing that takes away from it's functionality. The rails are 6 inch channel iron and are 13 1/2 inches apart to the outsides and 96 inches long. These can be adjusted in width rather easily. These trucks should work for a larger 4hp engine up to an 8 or maybe a 9hp engine. Factory trucks like these are pretty ... morehard to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don't miss your chance on it. It would certainly make moving your engine around easier! This is a very hard to find original cart for a small Sandwich hit and miss gas engine. I believe it is all original except the pull handle but this handle gets the job done. I'm pretty sure it has the original wood board on it but it has a few extra holes in it. The wheels measure 10 1/2 inches in diameter with a 2 1/8 inch face and are all cast iron. It is in great original condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind except for one wheel which has a pretty good old repair and could be dressed down a bit. It is is ready to be put to use under an engine just as it is. it has a nice old look to it and has lots of original grease and oil on it as can be seen. This cart was used under the 1 1/2 and 2hp Sandwich engines from the factory. It will work for any engine of the 1 1/2 to 3 or maybe 4hp size. This is a 1920's model Hercules/Economy 600 rpm. 1 3/4hp hit and miss engine. Item has been stored inside for the past 40 years and runs great. Middleton Machine 1.5HP Woodpecker Hit Miss engine
Woodpecker 1HP hit miss engine. Complete on cart. Has strong compression, starts very easily, runs well. Buzz coil fired, bearings are tight. Home made muffer and gas tank, although you can't see the gas tank so it really doesn't matter. The hopper has what may be some frost damage.it's a slightly bulged area with two ridges on either side, about 1" square. Doesn't leak at all, appears to never have leaked, and it's not brazed or repaired in any way. Could be a casting defect, can't say for certain. Doesn't affect engine in any way. Pickup only in Monroe. CT.

Old FAIRBANKS MORSE Z 10 15hp Hit Miss Gas Engine Governor Steam Tractor NICE!!
This is a rather tough to find original governor for a larger Fairbanks and Morse Z gas engine. I believe it fits on the 10 and 15hp spark plug fired engines but please do your homework to be sure it fits your application. It is in excellent condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs of any kind. There is very little noticeable wear anywhere on the gear or on the shafts or pins. It mounts with two holes 5 1/4 inches apart on center. It has the throttle arm on it it is ready to go to work on an engine or it would also make a great spare on the shelf. These are getting harder to find every day! The pictures tell the story. This is a real nice original Eisemann CM-4 four cylinder magneto for an antique tractor. These were used on early Caterpillar tractors and possibly others. It is a base mount magneto and the threads in the mounting holes are in great shape. The distributor cap seems to be in excellent condition. The magneto seems to be in great condition with no cracks. Breaks, or repairs that I can see or know of. It is clockwise rotation an turns over nicely. The impulse works as it should. It has a weak spark so I would think that with some cleaning and/or a new condenser it should be a very hot magneto. Old Fairbanks Morse FMJ Allis Chalmers Tractor Magneto Hit Miss Gas Engine HOT!!
This is a real nice original Fairbanks Morse Type J four cylinder magneto for an antique tractor. These were used on Allis Chalmers tractors as well as many others. It is an FM J4B3A and is in excellent condition and puts out a HOT. Fat, blue spark that is sure to run your engine if it is set up properly. It is a flange mount magneto. The magneto is clockwise rotation and the impulse works perfectly. The leadout towers are in excellent condition. The only flaw that I've noted is a slight crack in the cap which doesn't really affect it's performance but needed to be noted. If you have a dead magneto with a good cap this would be an excellent replacement but it works fine just the way it is. These magnetos are extremely tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets and they usually require several hundred dollars to rebuild. This ... moreone really doesn't need anything. This is a real nice original 3-feed mechanical oiler or lubricator for an early gas engine. Tractor, or other piece of machinery. It was made by Manzel and is in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind. The original sight glass is in good condition. The unit ratchets as it should and seems to pump oil from two of the three pumps. I don't know why the other pump doesn't pump but it may be a stuck check ball. I don't think it will be real tough to get it to pump judging by the overall condition of this oiler. This oiler has the original name tag on it. This is an extremely hard to find original Madison Kipp#30 3-feed mechanical oiler or lubricator for an early gas engine. Tractor, or other piece of machinery. It has an all cast iron body and was original equipment on the International Harvester Mogul sideshaft gas engines from 4-15 horsepower. It is in excellent condition and has been refurbished by an older collector at some point. The sight glass is in good condition. The unit ratchets as it should and seems to pump oil from all three pumps. The plastic cover and holder over the sights is missing but it shouldn't be to tough to make these. This oiler has the original brass name tag on it. One of the screws that hold the cover on needs to be cut shorter as it doesn't sit down all the way. Also, one corner of the cover needs a little ear bent to look presentable. Old Original Antique Hit & Miss Maytag Upright Cast Iron Cylinder Old Gas Engine
Good original Maytag upright cast iron cylinder. The external portion of this cylinder is in very good condition with no chipped or broken fins. The bore is not as nice. However. I believe it is a good usable part. I do not have a hone to fit this cylinder. I took emery clothe to clean it up some. There are some rust pits in a small area on about the first inch of the bore. I'm not sure, but I don't believe the rings come down this far. There is also some rust pitting on the mounting flange. The threads for the spark plug and exhaust are in excellent condition. This cylinder came with the early upright parts that I currently have on eBay. If for some reason you don't agree and are not happy with the cylinder, I will be happy to return your money and shipping. This is a really nice. Original Penberthy"Never Fail" brass connecting rod oiler for a hit and miss gas engine, steam engine, or other piece of machinery. It is in excellent, used condition with no cracks, breaks or repairs of any kind. It needs a little cleaning and probably new gaskets but that's the fun part. It is marked Penberthy Never Fail on the adjustment handle. It is about 2 inches in diameter and 4 1/4 inches tall overall. It has 3/8 inch pipe threads and they are in great shape. The hex has some very minor wrench marks on them. These original rod oilers are tough to find in the wild or even at swap meets so don't miss your chance on it. Original Antique Hit&Miss Associated 1 3/4 HP Hand Starting Crank Old Gas Engine
Very nice original Associated 1 3/4 horse power starting crank. The crank measures about 8 inches long with a 1 3/8 inch diameter bore. The pawl is nice with very little wear. Has part number"AUM" cast in relief. A hard to find part to finish that restoration. No cracks. Breaks or welds. I will gladly combine shipping when ever possible. This is a fully functional running engine that usually starts on One crank. I purchased this engine as a rust hulk in San Ardo California in 2011 and completely rebuilt it inside out. It is restored with a few new parts such as gas tank. Wiring and decals. Runs great. The engine is an LB Type, 3-5 H.P. New paint, some oil drippings, but I suspect you'd not complain.
