This gas tank came off of a GENERAC 15kW portable generator. There is a small crack at one of the mounting locations as seen in the second photo. The plastic was re-welded but has failed. This is the only problem this tank has. It includes the filler cap which has a level gauge PN 0D4570. Does not include the fuel shut off valve on the side.

Up for sale is my Dayton 40 KW generator. This unit is a beast! I used it for years up until July 2013 when I sold my shop. I used it strictly for my mill and lathe, as they were 3-phase and my shop only had 2-phase 240 volt. I maintained it well and never had any issues. It only has 1558 hours on it! The oil still looks brand new, it amazes me how clean this motor burns! It is powered by a V-8 Chevrolet motor that I believe to be a 305. Though I will provide casting numbers to be sure. It still has the factory intake manifold so if you wanted, it would be simple to convert to gasoline or to change the jet and convert to propane depending on your application, though I had it attached to natural gas. Here is a very nice Apple Igniter made by The Dayton Electrical Co of Dayton Ohio. It turns over fine and spins when a 12 volt battery is hooked up to it just as it should. The doesn't seem to be any bearing wear. There is a very tight crack in the door. You might be able to see it in the pictures(see picture with my finger pointing) This is meant to run against a gas engine flywheel and generate power for ignition. While there are many different kinds of these friction mags around I think this is one of the nicer ones. Electric start with 12V car battery(battery not included in sale) Removed from 1990 Chevy truck that was owned by a small Wisconsin city maintenance department. Since it was hooked directly to the truck gas tank, there is no tank included but the line is there to attach. The exhaust pipe and muffler that went under and across the truck is included, and you can have the steel stand and/or the insulated wood box if you want it. It does show signs of use and wear, but starts right up. I don't know how old it is. My guess is that it was well maintained because the city would have depended on it for worksites and power outages. The 1990 truck I took it out of is in excellent condition for its age. The crank shaft is damaged and the bottom of#1 cylinder is also damaged. I have had this generator for over a year Just have not found the time to fix it. The plan was to find a auto engine with a distributor or one that has the hole and with a good crank shaft and block. Then use the head from this engine and install turbo pistons and a rebuild kit.
