What happened to the temperature control is the wires shorted out in the solder wand on the left side, which appeared to have knocked out the embedded control chip on the front end daughter board(see picture) I could not find the wand for the right side and I needed a functioning soldering station, so after correcting the short, I swapped out the other undamaged daughter board from the right side. I have been using it that way for several years without any issues. I left the bad board unmounted and put it in a baggie, and left it inside the soldering station. HAKKO 473-1 DESOLDERING BASE STATION
I bought this used Hakko 473-1 in error. I did not realise that an external source of compressed air was necessary to make the suction work. I tested the unit with a Hakko 807( not included) it warmed up and reached working temperature perfectly and when I pressed the button a valve or relay is actuated inside the base station( it can be heard quite clearly) Without the external compressed air supply it was not possible to test this unit fully. This solder station was being thrown away at my work and I snatched it. I was told that 1 or 2 of the channels weren't working. Which means that MAYBE one of the channels does work. I plugged it in and the display came up. SensaTemp? What's that? I don't know but I want it! All buttons appear to work but I don't have any attachments to test it with. This was used in a professional engineering setting and has been well taken care of with the exception of some scratches on the front faceplate. What you get: The unit shown in the above images. And a power cord. That is it! This auction does not include any solder irons or"pens" or any attachments. It can be hooked up to a desolder attachment as well and has the vacuum port for it. Very lightly used dual Xytronic model 988D Solder/De-soldering rework station. Original owner and everything works 100%Includes a lot of accessories including tips both soldering and de-soldering( a couple new and some lightly used) Two new vacuum pump rebuild kits(but the pump works 100% now) I just bought them to have them on hand, cleaning brushes, extra de-soldering tube and catcher, extra filters Instruction manual. All original boxes. Very well taken care of and not used very much at all. Hakko 703B Soldering & Desoldering Station w 1 Soldering Iron & 1 3-piece Stand
Up for sale is a used Hakko 703B soldering station with one used Hakko 907 soldering iron. I am also including one new tip for the soldering iron a T18-C2. This station has three separate channels that let the user simultaneously use three separate hand pieces such as three soldering irons or two soldering irons and one desoldering iron. I have replaced the filter underneath the vacuum cap with a new filter. The temperature of the unit's channels have not been calibrated and have only been tested at three separate points(520 F. 700 F, and 800 F) to see that the solder melted faster/slower on a through hole board. The desoldering iron was tested at 700 F and extracted solder as expected. The filter inside the desoldering iron has been emptied of solder, but not replaced.
