Up for auction is an original antique Witte engine equipment emblem badge. Made of aluminum and has red enamel paint on the front. In nice original condition with some minor edge wear. As this came out of a pretty amazing narrow gauge railroadianna collection with stuff dating back as far as 1851. I assume this is original- it looks original. Hopefully the photos will tell the story. Again, I believe it to be original. Repro cast iron has tells that I do not see here. Possibly the paint was touched up? I really can't say for sure, sorry. It is marked D&RG.RR- 1887- has a star on it. It is 5 1/2" diameter& cast iron. I think it is most likely a pretty amazing piece. It is called The Dobbie McInnes Engine Indicator and was used to plot power diagrams of large steam enines and also large diesel engines The application was from large stationary engines. Locomotives and marine engines. This model is the Small Mk V and was intended to be used on engines up to a maximum of 800 RPM. On the label written in pen is(FA III Submarine Section) so I presume it was used in the Navy. How it works T he instrument is attached via a connection port to the engine combustion chamber. The rotating chart holder is attached via a string to the engine valve gear. As the compression builds. This oiler was used on Hit and Miss type engines made in the early 1900's. The oiler glass measures 1 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches and the oiler mounts on a 1/4 pipe as shown. Vintage, antique DURANT gas engine, stationary engine, hit and miss COUNTER

CO and weighs approx. 3 ½# I don’t know for sure but I believe the purpose of this heavy duty counter was to be connected to some sort of fulcrum arm attached to a lever on old engine to measure the revolutions. This may have been done to keep record of the revolutions for engine oil change intervals and/or reliability issues. The counter works perfectly but does have 2 viewing windows with cracks in glass. Antique Briggs and Stratton FH engine. S/n 573XX which makes it a 1929. Completely restored by previous owner. Mechanically and cosmetically. Has correct muffler, asphaltic wire loom, comes with 2 kick pedals, on straight, the other angled. This engine has NOT been run in over 5 years. Everything is free and moving. But you will likely have to clean the points and possibly the carb, just give it a little TLC. Buyer pays for shipping from 06615. Or you can pick it up locally in either Stratford or Monroe, CT. Offered for Bid here is the Firehouse"Running Book" for Engine 17 of San Diego. California. I recovered it from a trash pile at an estate sale. At first I thought to remove the pages and use the very antiqued cover for an art book or photo album. Then I started reading it and got very interested. This book lays out Fire Department procedures for dealing with everything from house fires to major disasters. There are directions for everything from where to requisition gas and oil to drive the water pumps to how and where to pump seawater into the system in a major emergency. Details about where hydrants are, locations of strategic defense, training rookies, poison control. you name it. Its all produced on turn of the century typewriters. There are no DATES or signatures. But at least one of the orders contained in this unique item ... moreis labeled"By Order of Louis Almgren" A quick trip to the internet detailed a rich and inspiring history in which D.L. plays a leading role in reforming and expanding the San Diego Fire Department in dramatic leaps and bounds. DL was Chief Engineer from 1909 to 1935 and he accomplished a laundry list of great things during that time. Converting from horse teams to engine trucks, from drawing on wells and cisterns to the city's first"hydrant" system. the list is pretty big. Google"Firestation History San Diego Louis Almgren" for more info on him. Back to the Item. The Book is as stated for Firehouse 17. Of San Diego. Firehouse 17 was Established by Almgren in 1924 as part of an expansion to keep up with the young and growing city. It is my speculation that this book is the original running book for this station. It has all the appearance and feel of being nearly 100 years old. I don't believe this is the sort of item that they had many copies of. In any case we still have the typed order of Almgren and since he retired in 1935 as Chief Engineer, the chances are very good that this book was made no later then 1935. Again I believe this was the

ANTIQUE HYDRO POWER INJECTOR - AUTOMOBILE ENGINE POWER BOOSTER
This is an antique Hydro Power Injector. From the scant information that I have found about it. It connected to the fuel intake of your car engine and added vapor to the fuel/air mixture. This supposedly gave you more power and a few more MPH. I'm no mechanic, so I welcome input from you experts out there. The piece is dusty, but solid and intact. The mechanism is marked"Hydro Power Injector Co. Denver Pat. Pend. It appears to be complete except for maybe one missing screw on top, as pictured. There is a perforated copper coil running down to the bottom of the jar. The jar is stained as pictured. It is marked"Atlas Special Mason" on the front and has some marks on the bottom as shown. Other than the staining, the glass is in perfect condition, with no chips or cracks. Hit Miss Olds 4 1/2 HP antique engine
Engine was used by my father in law for cutting firewood. Mounted on a buzz rig which sells with the engine. I last saw this engine running about 15 years ago when he was cutting wood. Engine is in very good condition. I have not had the proper time to restore it but as you can see it would not take a lot to do so. Engine must be picked up at my house. The serial number is D8933. There is a repair weld on the crank cover as shown in the photo.

Antique Ritter Dental Drill/Light Engine Switch Motor Speed Foot Control
This is the foot control from a Ritter dental unit probably from around the 1920's. The unit appears funtcional although I have no way of testing it, The nickel finish is worn in spots no doubt due to the years of use. The cord looks to be in great shape as well as the rubber removable boot for hard surface floors. The boot comes off to reveal a more textured surface possibly for carpeted flooring. Unit is extremely heavy and measures 7 3/8" around at base and 5 1/2" in overall height. Worth noting my packaging skills far out weight my photography skills. Thanks for looking.

Orig.Antique Fuller & Johnson Pumping Hit & Miss Gas Engine Connecting Rod Pump
Nice original Fuller& Johnson connecting rod in very good condition. The connecting rod has"J97C" cast in raised letters. The rod is 9 inches between centers. No cracks. Breaks or repairs. Has Bronze wrist pin bushing, however it is missing the Babbitt bearing. Overall a good usable connecting rod. If you have any questions please ask. Thanks for looking.
