1hp Handy Andy Hit Miss Engine by The Galloway Co. Waterloo. Iowa Up for Auction Only- No Reserve Highly prized by collectors due to it's size. ONLY 140 Pounds I have seen these restored and carried in the luggage compartment of motor homes or in the trunk of a car. NO VISIBLE CRACKS IN THE CASTINGS OR FLYWHEELS The piston is free but I believe the rings are stuck. THERE IS NO COMPRESSION. The rod and main bearings still have shims left in them. The movement of the crankshaft and rod is smooth. The cam gears look decent. See Pics. Nice little knife switch on very old. Possibly original skids. A small casting that supports the governor pivot lever has been brazed. This part bolts to the engine just behind the cam gear. The repair is just to the right of the pivot shaft's hex bolt in the last picture. In this picture you can also see ... morewhere some one repaired the starting crank by brazing it. Except for the brazed starting crank and the little casting mentioned above I see no evidence of cobbling. Make no mistake this engine will have to be carefully restored. And due to it's headless design it is not for the novice. Auction price is final. Do not expect to renegotiate after the auction ends. No foreign sales. Free local pick-up recommended. Shaft opening 1 3/4in(1.75inch) wt approx. 68 lbs. 31 kilos) This is one of two similar ones apparently to the same engine and is marked IHC 9201-T(see picture) the other sold within 24hours of listing it. it structurally sound with no visible cracks or fractures on inspection and is in VERY NICE antique/vintage condition. Doesn't seem to have much in the way of compression but I took the plug out and I can see the piston moving up and down so I don't think it has anything too catastrophic wrong with it.
