The glass is 1-1/2" in dia. The bigger one is 3" in dia. There are cracks in the glass. Otherwise appear to be in good condition. See Pictures. I'm selling them as is. Get yourself a great deal here. This card has a caption in white letters on the left margin which reads“Cassion#5 April 17-15” so I presume the image was taken in 1915. This card has a message written in pencil and a postmark from Guernsey. Wyoming. I can’t quite make out the year on the postmark but it looks like 191? This card has a few spots and a small reddish stain on the lower right hand corner as well as a bit of surface loss at the top center of the card. The original owner wrote“John” with an arrow in pencil pointing to one guy in the photo and the verso indicates this is“John Rittrell” The image has nice detail including a large stationary engine driving the pumping rig. This is another of many items to be listed for a retired auctioneer friend who has an incredible collection of early Americana that I will be selling through my auction house as well as online. The Gentleman I am selling this for has seen it run! I had a certified mechanic look over this engine and said it has good compression and believes it could be running after cleaning the gas tank. Waukesha Variable Compression Engine One Cylinder Vertical Octane Tester Model# COT-MIL Year of Manufacture 1962 This unit came from a local Engineering Lab. It has been in a dry heated environment until last month. It is now dry. There does not appear to be any major repairs needed. I have NOT tried to start the engine. It Does turn over and seems ok. It was used to test fuel Octane levels. There is a hand crank on the side of engine to raise and lower the cylinder to change the compression ratio. There are 2 screens with lids missing from the fuel viles. This Unit has a Continental 220 Volt. 3 Phase Starter/Generator, this is used to put a load on the engine for fuel testing. Comes with all seen on unit except for chain and strap. Has Detonation Meter and Knock Meter. Has a Young Radiator with cooling Fan. Beautiful original Nathan Mfg. engine cylinder drip oiler in very good condition. A very ornate oiler that would look great on a steam engine. Antique motorcycle or old hit& miss engine. The oiler is chrome or nickel plated and has some wear and scratches. The oiler is about 4 1/2 inches tall. The top rotates exposing two slots for the oil to go in. Then you turn the top and it closes again. I've never seen an oiler like this. I'm not sure what it originally came on. Antique 11" cast iron heavy duty industrial farm engine wheels. Two wheels included. Massive roller bearings inside each wheel. As well as grease fittings. Each wheel is quite heavy. No crack or repairs to be seen, although I have not cleaned them. Wheels have solid 1" axles and two washers each(axels have pins stuck in at one end) Both wheels need a cleaning. But when restored they are top quality. Because of weight it is cheaper to send them in two separate flat rate boxes over one large box. So $33.70 together. VINTAGE ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE ENGINE OIL CAN OPENER AND SPOUT c.1937
Up For Auction is this UNIQUE ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE ENGINE OIL CAN OPENER AND SPOUT c.1937"Back in the day" your engine oil came in a tin can without a spout. In order to empty the oil into your auto engine you had to either punch a couple of holes in the top of the can with a beer can opener. Or you had to use a special spout that had a built-in opener. The oil can opener and spout combination tool in this auction is quite unique because it punctured a hole in the side of the can rather than the top as other less desirable opener spouts did(see photo 3) Why was it made to do this? Well to answer that question we have to examine the patent for this tool. It was patented in 1937(US Patent 2082094 granted on June 1. 1937) The inventor explains in the patent that certain unscrupulous people could easily replace the lid on used oil cans ... morewith a new lid. Having first filled the cans with cheap or used oil, but the can still had the quality name on the side, thereby fooling the unsuspecting consumer. Can you believe it? Ha,ha,ha) So this oil can opener spout punched a hole in the side of the can. Not the top, thereby thwarting the crooks and making it impossible for them to commit their dastardly deed! To use the item you hook the can rim on a lip located just below the opening point(cutter) and push the side of the can onto the point. The point cuts into the can. It works quite nicely(see photo 3) This is a very unusual and Interesting Piece of U.S. Automobilia. This old oil can opener measures about 11 inches in overall length. It's in very good vintage condition. It has a little light rust that gives it a nice aged patina but there's no real damage. It was manufactured by the Scovile Manufacturing Company of Waterbury. Conn. Photo 8 shows the makers stamp and the patent number. The old empty Quaker State oil can is included in the auction. However. ANTIQUE Williamson & Cassedy Steam Ship Engine or Railroad Tachometer
This is a very rare industrial tachometer made by Williamson& Cassedy of Philadelphia. I do not see a patent date on the instrument or box. Tach comes in its original lined and fitted box. With five additional gears. The shaft in the center turns freely and when I give it a spin it moves the needle. I have not tested it beyond that. The bottom of the tach unscrews. As you can see in the photo, exposing the gears. I was not able to remove those gears by hand and did not want to force it. There are some marks on the dial glass and slight surface scuffing on the instrument. it appears to be plated brass. The tach itself weighs about 3 1/2 pounds and is 9" long. ANTIQUE 1930 MAYTAG RESTORED VINTAGE GAS ENGINE HIT AND MISS WRINGER WASHER
This is#9 restored engine for 2014 and many. Many more to come. Last year I had sold just about all of my Maytag engines off ebay. Up for sale is a very nice Maytag Model 92 side exhaust Antique hit miss Gas Engine. The flywheel has serial# 429527 stamped on it which was in production between April-1- June-30 1930. I have been restoring these engines for over 10 years now and I sell a lot of them. I also used to restore Maytag ringer washers and put Maytag motor's on themas well. This engine was completely taken apart and sand blasted and bead blasted clean and painted with DuPont Maytag original color paint code. I take a lot of pride in these motors and I like to do a little extra detailing like the lettering and some of the numbers as you can see in the pictures. I think it makes the motor's stand out better. Lots of people like ... moreto take the same pictures as I do and try to confuse the buyer. I don't like the way they do things but I have no control of that. But I put my own trade mark on my engines then I know it is on that I restored proper. You can see this engine is complete and not missing any parts such as the pulley or kill switch, spring and screen on carb. It has new rings, condenser, spark plug wire with new ends, new spark plug, and kill switch. I also honed out the Cylinder jug. It also has a new needle valve on the carb. Magnet ring was recharged as well and throws a real nice hot spark. This engine has been restored and freshly painted and the tank and top plate was sealed so it will not rust again. I do not paint the flywheels like some people. After putting it all back together I ran 1 tank of fuel through it and it runs just fine. Detailing with the correct decals finished it. I cannot put a warranty on these motors do to the age of them BUT I will guarantee it will run great for you when you get it and keep running well. I have sold a lot of motors and washers and never had a complaint yet. All it needs now is fuel and you can start it with your hand, it is that easy to start. The

Nice original pair of International Harvestor grease cups in very good condition. The top is embossed with the IHC logo. These have 1/8 male pipe threads. They are about 2 1/4 inches high and about 1 1/4 inches in diameter. I'm not sure what type of implement these came on. Nice complete greaser. Has good threads on the end that goes into the pipe and also in the caps themselves. Everything moves as it should. Not all beat up. Overall a good usable greaser. Turney in 1917. Turney had been the long time sales and marketing manager of the Hercules Gas Engine Company and later sold his own Turney branded hit& miss engines. This lots includes two booklets from the course and a four page brochure promoting the course issued by W.H. McCurdy. President of The Hercules Gas Engine Company titled Education. The booklets included the A.B.C. Of Turneycourse and the Turneycourse Lesson No. 1 which was the first of the four booklet series that made up the course. These booklets are 32 and 24 pages respectively ... moreplus the covers both in an oblong format measuring about 6” x 9” Both booklets are illustrated with numerous drawings and diagrams and contain problems and lessons on operating stationary farm engines. Both booklets are copyright dated 1917 by Lee L. Turney. The promotional brochure is based on a statement by the president of the Hercules Gas Engine Company but I am not sure if these booklets were published by Turney while he with company or on his own after he had left the company. I found some references online indicating he was selling his own Turney branded engine a couple years after these booklets were published in 1917. Both booklets are fully complete and well intact showing a bit of soiling and a few smudges but are in good shape overall. The brochure is in very good condition. Email any questions. Original Wisconsin tin muffler. A very nice original with no cracks or repairs. I was told this is for a Wisconsin four cylinder engine. It would look great on any hit or miss engine. I thought about putting it on my upright Famous. But I'm sure my engine buddies would have had a coronary. The threads are 1 1/4 inch pipe thread and look very good. This is a very unusual unit and I honestly have no idea of its original purpose. I was told its was a boiler for an old steam whistle off of an old steam engine. Hahn build straight trucks mostly till WWII and then The fire apparatus line started to bloom. They build Mack B series bodies in the late 1950s and by the 1960s they were building cab forward fire apparatus on FWD and Autocar chassis. While cleaning out my Hahn file I found basically two piles of information one dealing with pre 1935 Hahn catalogs and photos and the second pile dealing with Hahn fire apparatus.
