I've heard of them a lot but this is the only one I've seen, Nolan amps have a bit of a piecemeal history I'm trying to figure, but seems that an Irish amp maker called Paddy Nolan was making Flame amps in London, then went back to Ireland, would make sense if he then made these. 4 EL34, Partridge transformers, otherwise fairly Marshall style circuit and Hiwatt style box. So probably most comparable to Laney, ha. Its own thing to an extent, the layout and construction makes it a bit different ... moreto those. This has just come from being serviced by a pro amp tech, as was a bit unusual and I figured best doing it that way. Bulgin power socket has been replaced with an IEC. Too nice of an amp for me to keep. But gonna be enjoying having it until it goes. I've given it a clean up, checked some stuff, cleaned sockets, and most importantly, loaded the with Mullard XF4 EL34 power amp valves. Preamps are all tested mullards too. It has had some previous work done inside, as some of the solder is newer, but the components look as original, dunno if they were just resoldered or replaced with like for like. Couple of the front panel knobs have been replaced with not the same chickenheads. IF it makes much odds to you let me know, I think I have some closer ones in spares vox. German Wehrmacht Transmitter type 100W.S. or Lorenz LS 100/108
There is a pro blem with this listing(Ebay's problem- not mine) Please do not bid at the moment. Any bids placed until I remove this notice are liable to be cancel led. This 100W.S. transmitter. Used by German forces during WWII, is a very fine example of just how good German engineering was in the 1930s and 1940s. It was made by the Lorenz company. It also had the model number LS 100/108. It operates in the low and medium frequency bands(0.2- 1.2MHz) and was used to put out a strong ground wave signal. Power level is 100 watts. And it operates in both voice(A.M. and Morse(C.W. modes. The Americans reckoned its range was 70 miles on voice, and 200 miles on CW(Morse) These are remarkable figures for a set which one(fit! person can lift. Power requirements are 12 volts at 7 amps. And 1000V at 300 milliamps. I do not have the original dynamotor(Umformer" ... morewhich was used to power the transmitter, nor the connecting lead for it. A lot of information about the set can be gleaned from here. This transmitter was used with the famous German teletype system(the Hell Feldfernschreiber) as described here. A first class copy of the transmitter manual can be downloaded from here. It will be evident from the photos below that this transmitter is in really excellent condition. And has not been messed about with by previous owners. All controls operate smoothly as expected. I checked the heaters of the two RS237 valves, and they are fine- I can't test the valves further as I don't have a suitable high voltage supply. The transmitter is not perfect of course. And here are a list of the defects that I have spotted while examining it: 1. The case has a hole in the back. 2. The antenna current meter is missing one of its fixing screws. 3. The tuning knob has some damage to its winder: 4. The valve type type RS241 is not connected to its base: The valve heater is intact(i.e. not open circuit) And the valve may be repairable. 5. Up on the block is my 1973-74 Dual Showman Reverb 100W tube amp.This amp is in very good condition for a 40 yr. old! Has small dents scuffs& tears. Bottom tolex is typically scraped up. Works perfectly with NO issues! I am the 2nd owner& bought this amp in 1981. The only thing I have ever had done on this is had a tube socket(6L6 Power) replaced in 1982. All original Mallory Cap.s are in great shape! This a mp also has a new Electro-Harmonix(complete) matched tube set 4-6L6's/6-12AX7's($80 value! Includes rebuilt original foot-switch: This foot-switch controls the Reverb& Tremelo. These effects also work perfectly and sound great as does the amp. Of course. FYI: This amp weighs in at 48 lb.s(thus the high shipping rate) And can get VERY LOUD! My parents bought a new bulb( the Philips bulb) I put it in and they didn't think it was as bright as the original so I ordered an original Samsung bulb and a few weeks after the new Samsung bulb was put in the TV died and they changed to a flat screen so these are both barely used but the original is brighter than the Phillips even though they say there is no difference they lie. Pair MISSION 761 Black 2-Way 100W Audiophile Bookshelf Speakers Made in England
This is a pair of Mission model 761 acoustic suspension bookshelf speakers in black. The speakers are 2-way and there is a tweeter and a 6" mid/woofer. They have been tested and are in excellent playing condition. They were made in England. Handle 100W of power and have a tight crisp sound. They come complete with their original grilles. Cosmetically, there are some light scratches in the finish of both speakers as well as some small dings in the finish as seen in the photos. The grille cloth has a small 1/2" tear on one speaker and a small 3/16" hole at the bottom corner. The grille covers fit a little loose, but stay on.
