UNIVOX U-4100 AMPLIFIER Here is an interesting Univox U-4100 100 watt solid state Combo Amp for Bass. Guitar, Organ. I believe this may be an early version before they added the"Minimax" title. This amp sounds great and is very versatile for many uses. It has high and low inputs for bass and for normal use. I'm pretty sure this is the original 15" speaker but not positive. The previous owner did some unique customizations to the amp. There is some sort of tie down ring attached to the side. The Univox tag has been removed and vinyl cushioning bars have been attached to the top and bottom of front side. On the back we have a little cage installed with a locking clasp so you can keep all your cords and goodies in the back of the amp. It's actually very useful and well constructed. It does not cause any rattle. There is ... morealso some fabric carpeted to the bottom of the inside and a hook to keep a cord looped up. The previous owner had glued some plastic letters(his initials) to the mesh. I removed them and touched up the area with some black paint. Overall its an odd but useful amp with a lot of character. I purchased this amp in 1986. The cabinet covering is in good condition for for a 34 year old amplifier. A few nicks here and there in the tolex and plastic. It is missing the Marshall logo on the front, I bought it used and it did not have the logo. I have tested all tubes this past week and they are all excellent. Tube complement of 3 ECC83 dual triodes and 4 EL34 Pentodes. This amp was my standby amp and has had very little use since 1992. It is a screamer!
