A nice piece of Americana with some enhancements. This one includes a phase contrast kit(early model) with PH sliders for 10x. 21x and 97x oil. The 43x PH slider is missing. It does include a factory case and centering key. The system is pretty dirty and needs some lube on the focus R&P. Optics include an Abbe 1.25 BF condenser, the phase condenser with inserts as noted and B&L phase contrast objectives 10x and 43x. Also includes a normal 10x achromat, 43x achromat and 97x oil.all non-phase. Oculars 10xWF and 7.5x. A nice wooden carrying case with lock and handle is included. The Zeiss"pumpkin" lamp is mounted on a support stand and includes the Zeiss filter holder.accepts 32mm diameter filters. A blue filter is included along with the collector lens and diffusor inside. You are bidding for a Carl Zeiss Planapochromat 10x. 0.32na, Objective, as described. The problem with this objective is that it does have a chip on the edge of the glass. On the front element, and this can be seen in photograph 2 and indicated by the yellow arrow. Also some wear and brassing to the metalwork surrounding the front element. When used with Carl Zeiss Photomicroscopes and Universals and fitted with the standard 1.25x Nosepiece. This damage to the front element is not visible. When used with Carl Zeiss Standard Microscopes fitted with the usual fixed or removable Nosepiece. It is visible in a small area towards the edge of the image. However. The rest of the objective is in nice cosmetic condition and the optics are clear. Clean and unmarked. Showing no apparent signs of delamination. Leitz, Zeiss, Olympus and Nikon similar brands. The microscope is Universal and in present configuration has multiple light sources(100W halogen and 200W mercury lamps are on board plus multiple slots available for external spectral lamps) Among the other features are the set of interchangeable filters embedded into light path, mixer and switch box of light sources, retractable heat filter, additional slot for standard Reichert sliders. The microscope is capable of bright/dark field observations with full set six bright/dark field objectives included into the nosepiece and capable to function in the reflective/transmissive mode. Included are 5x, 10x, 20x, ... more50x, 100x(0.9NA Dry) 100x(1.25NA oil) EPI objectives and 10x wide field eyepices. Also included is switchable phase contrast measurement set and the microscope is capable of DIC observation and analysis but DIC slider is not on board. The microscope is equipped with polarization measurements and analysis kit: retractable analyzer, wave plates and standard 6x20mm slot for sliders embedded into nose piece as well as two camera ports for stereo picturing. Those ports at present occupied with Polaroid instant picture camera for paper pictures and standard 36mm Leica cameras for filming. It has a lot of parts as you can see on the photo’s and all the parts are in a good condition. The wood box is in a very nice good condition and shows normal wear for it's age(approx. 1915) The original key is still working. In the box there is a paper that the microscope has been checked on 2-6-1920. The box has two wooden slide out trays that hold the spare lenses. This is really a nice. As far I can judg, complete set. With a little cleaning it would make a beautiful piece for your collection. This complete trinocular head microscope is fully functional. It contains the following parts: 4330819 trinocular head- RARE- retrofit with a camera easily if you wish. 4226603 precision kinematic stage with slide holder. 4224169- Optical Condenser 4275266- Zeiss Base 4102139- Zeiss 40x Neofluar objective lens 4119857- Zeiss 400x Neofluar objective lens Unmarked Spencer 42x objective lens Periplan 10x Leitz Wetzlar objective in trinocular head. A pair of Zeiss KPL 12.5x eyepieces. The overall condition of this microscope is good- there is some mild oxidation on some of the fixtures which do not impact performance- and could be trivially cleaned up with steel wool if desired. The optics all need a good cleaning- this has been in storage for a while. And has collected some dust. The bulb in the system does work(It's the 6 volt 15 watt version) ... morebut does not include a power supply- any zeiss 6 volt supply will work fine. The movements on most of the stages are smooth, but one or two of them seem like they could use some lubrication. This microscope has one key aspect- a trinocoular head. This makes it easy to retrofit with a camera for capturing images- there are lots of"usb microscopes" here on ebay which are compatible with this. To the best of my knowledge. This device only requires typical maintenance(optics cleaning and lubrication) and no major repairs are needed. I'm only selling this because I purchased a more powerful microscope.
