There is a number engraved lightly on the top of the handle. All components were tested and in perfect operating condition. The unit powers on perfectly and light is visible through both heads. Focus& all other controls are working perfectly. It's a very nice solid unit. Rheostat properly adjusts the brightness of the light. This is my Oto/opthalmoscope from medical school. It has been in a box since then except to use on my kids when they were young. It has a soft case and a few sleeves of disposable ear specs.
