The only wear I could find was on the bottom there was a tiny bit of oxidation on the aluminum. The inside of the battery compartment is in super shape with no corrosion. This Otoscope/Ophthalmoscope works well. It is just missing the front knob. The heads work great and shove as bright as the day they were bought. The ophthalmoscope head is in good condition and functions as it should. All this should need to be functional again is a new otoscope head and the knob. I suspect it is under 5$ for a new knob. It recently came from a medical office that is upgrading their systems. All the other devices in this lot had a"next maintenance date" of September 2014. Which shows they have been maintained. My grandfather was a collector of the unusual and had this otoscope in his collection. I am currently cleaning out his estate and found this and thought it was very interesting. I never put batteries in it so I don't know if it works properly but I did see on eBay that you could buy lightbulbs for this thing just in case. Another thing I noticed about this piece was it's early patents so I would think this is a nice early otoscope. The case is in very nice condition and the otoscope tool appears to be in good used condition. It also comes with the accessories you see in the pictures. Model# 23120. There is nothing wrong with the otoscope- Dr. is just moving and doesn't see himself seeing a use for it at the other location. I tested the otoscope by turning it on. I also have a picture of the battery in case you were interested in knowing that information. I have the output cable that comes with the otoscope as you can see in the pictures. The LCD TV was used to show people what was being viewed through the otoscope. We had it connected to the wall through an articulating arm(1ft. I have taken it down from the wall and will be sending it along with this auction too.
