This is a vintage Welch Allyn Opthalmoscope not sure the exact year. It has a patent date on the removable top that reads Waco No.106 Auburn NY USA Pat NO 2027663 Welch Allyn. I couldn't find a patent date on the tool itself. Come with an original Welc Allyn box. It is in good condition for its age. I did not clean it up much, I'd rather leave that to the buyers preference. It uses 2 D batteries and the light actually works(I took a picture of the top with the light on and with it off in photo's 4 and 5) It seems to have a brass cylinder(the paint has worn off as you can see from photo, which shows the brass color) A very cool item. I do not have either battery or bulb to test these items. So I cannot confidently opine as to their exact working condition. With a new battery and bulbs these would likely work fine. This is a Welch Allyn Otoscope/Ophthalmoscope diagnostic kit. All components are in excellent condition with barely any signs of wear. The components still have their original plastic packaging included. One of the diagnostic heads is also still sealed in it's original bag. It doesn't look like this set was used much at all, it still looks like it's brand new. This kit is the MacroView 3.5v Diagnostic Set. Kit number 97210-C. The battery compartment is pristine with no issues to report. All components were tested and in perfect operating condition. The unit powers on perfectly and light is visible through both the otoscope and ophtahlmoscope heads. The unit operates off of a rechargeable battery(included) The handle doubles as a charger as well. So if you need to charge it, simply unscrew the handle and plug it in any standard ... moreoutlet! The unit additionally includes the adapter so you can use two standard C-Cell batteries to power it on as well. The battery included is a new aftermarket 72200 NiCd battery(3.5v) The battery was purchased recently and should last you a while, otherwise no guarantees are made on the battery life. Replacement batteries are very easy to obtain(and inexpensive as well) Bulbs on both heads were tested and working at listing time, the head that was sealed was not tested, but is expected to be working properly.
