Leitz Wollaston Prism in Adapter for NPL 20x Pol Objective
This is a Wollaston prism in a special 15mm long spacer adapter. It converts a 20x NPL(or NPL Fluotar) objective of 30mm adjustment length into a Nomarski interference contrast objective. The adapter is first threaded into the nosepiece. Then the objective threaded into the adapter, forming a DIN standard 45mm adjustment length system. The three set screws about the perimeter of the adapter are released which allows the objective(along with the Wollaston prism within the adapter) to be axially rotated. When the shear direction is in the proper orientation with respect to the crossed analyzer and polarizer, the set screws are fixed. Other elements needed for interference contrast include an analyzer slider with a fixed orientation polarizing filter. Here is a beautiful pair of WW2 German Rubber Armoured 7x50 Kriegsmarine Navy Binoculars marked"beh" for E. Leitz. Including the original case, straps, and amber filters. The crystal clear optics are outstanding! I recently had them cleaned and collimated. There is no haze, dirt, or scratches to either lens. The focusing adjustments are smooth and turn easily. The rubber eye caps are there but are separated from the body, which is often seen on this type, along with slight shallow age cracks to the bottom rubber covers. Including a 6x30(6 power magnification with 30mm objective lens, being the standard issued optics used by all branches of service. Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required stinger optics, and were issues to personnel on a limited basis. Leitz Trinovid 8x32 Binoculars 150m/1000m FOV(~450ft@1000yds) Here is a lightly used but in great shape Leitz Trinovid 8x32 Binocular. The operation is flawless and glass is in perfect condition with no scratches or cleaning mark on the lenses. The exterior is also in very good condition. The only blemishes are light handling marks on the focus and diopter adjustments, and some small marks on the hinge edge. No scuffs on the leather armoring. See the pics to get a good idea. Focus and diopter both adjust smoothly and precisely. Central hinge is firm and collimation is perfect. Also included with the binocular are the original leather carrying case, carrying strap, and neck strap. The carrying case has some white spots that might buff out. These were made in Germany before Leitz re-named to Leica( Lei tz ca mera) And the series was then continued(with ... moreobvious changes in design) as the Leica Trinovid until 2006. I recently bought these but found myself never having the opportunity to use them. These are excellent binoculars. Regarded as some of the best of their time by many users. The view through them is exceptionally relaxed, natural, and pleasant. With their unique Uppendahl prism system and quality optical components, these Trinovids offer an impressive depth of field along with a massive 450ft@ 1000yds FOV. Ergonomics are simple but very well thought out. The leather armoring and perfect balance make them very comfortable to use. They have a very sophisticated and classic design, considered as one of the nicest looking binoculars ever made(not that it matters unless you collect) Focus and diopter adjustments turn smoothly and with precision. They will work for just about any use; though by now they are probably more of a collector’s item. vtg Antique Ernst Leitz Brass Microscope w/ Case & Extra Lenses 1927 Works Fine
This is an old Ernst Leitz brass microscope that comes in a wooden case with three extra lenses. Pull-out lens and slide holders and an unopened box of newer O-I glass slides. Microscope made in 1927 and is in working condition- the kids were looking at pond water and could see all sorts of microscopic organisms in it. Very nice condition with no damage, the brass could use a polish if you want it to be shinier and it is missing one of the slide holders, but works fine with the one that it does have.
