I used one of these meters in the early 80's and it compared favorably to my 2203/1613/4144 I was amazed because we paid a lot less for the Quest kit and it didn't break down as much(meter neck problems threads stripped or jammed) and when we sent it in to Anaheim(after a while no longer in business) we were always told it needed a new 4144 and the charged us to repaint it $400.00,$ 1100.00 for new microphone. These meters are very rugged and reliable. Everything in the pictures is included hand held meter can be used for frequency measuring. I have chart with correction factors for 6Kand 8 K but it has a flat response otherwise. The corrections on 6 and 8KHZ ... moreare less than 2db. This interesting device is actually a vintage Beltone audiometer for testing hearing, and it looks like it was manufactured in perhaps the 1950‘s or 1960‘s. This large desktop unit measures 21 1/2” by 13” by 14” and has all the original knobs and switches, with everything turning freely as it should be. The power cord is still attached to the back of the unit, but the actual prong section is missing from the cord, so it may have been’hard-wired” at one point. In any event, I have no way to test the unit, so I’m selling it“as is” as a collectable. To prepare the audiometer: Open the cover. Plug in the earphones in this manner: plug the red cord into the right receptacle at the back of the audiometer; plug the blue cord into the left receptacle. Plug the audiometer into an electrical outlet. Turn the power ON by pushing the toggle switch located in the center front panel. The red light to the right of the POWER switch should be illuminated when the power is on. Check the jacks at the back of the audiometer for secure insertion.
