US ARMY BURRELL GAS MASK OK. I don’t know ANYTHING about vintage gas masks… that being said. Here is what I DO know about this item: It is from the 1920's. It would be great for Cosplay. Comic Con, Sci-Fi/ Dr. Who or Costume Parties.or for a collector! The GREY GREEN rubber face and corrugated hose is in EXCELLENT condition.no dry rot. Cracking or holes. It seems to be as pliable and supple as when newly made. They eye lenses are also excellent. No crack or scratches. The back harness webbing. Straps& buckles are also in the same condition. The forehead has a raised US with a U underneath. Behind the OD GREEN back head patch it is stenciled in black LOTB4. The mask itself is different from the pictures inside the case lid in that it has a circular nose affair that seems to be missing a cover or additional filter. The REDDISH BROWN ... morecase is a little dirty inside& out. But it is NOT damp, musty, smelly or moldy. I have not cleaned it in any way. It measures 13”x 9”x 6” and the BLACK edge guards. Hinges& clasp work perfectly, but are a little worn of paint. The padded leather handle is in good condition. But a little worn at the connecting D rings on the box. It is not in danger of coming apart or breaking off. One hose clamp. The carrying bag& strap for the canister are not here. The plate on the outside of the box under the handle is a little worn. But says(in agreement with the information on the inside cover) Mine Safety Appliances Co. Braddock Ave. Thomas Blvd. Pittsburg, PA. The description of function and usage inside the case cover is in excellent condition. Clear and easy to read. The GME High Duty Canister has quite a bit of paint loss. But the labels are in good readable condition. It says the canister is good for Organic vapors. Acid gasses and ammonia. I acquired this at an estate sale in Fairfield. Maine. The first item is a rim fiberglass hard had with liner that has been repaired by the previous owner. There is only one small ding in the helmet. The other item is a full brim fiberglass hardhat and it is marked MSA inside as well. There is no damage to the shell of this hard hat, and very minimal damage to the liner. The in side is marked"US GOVT" I am not sure when or what purpose this hard hat served. It was obviously designated for the use of a United States, Government official. This is a vintage all-metal MSA Mine Safety Appliances first aid kit box. This is just the box; it does not come with any first aid items such as bandages. Etc. This box measures 8 1/2 by 5 inches and is 2 1/2 inches thick. Its latches work perfectly and its handle is in good shape. The interior has some staining, apparently due to some sort of oil or ointment spilled inside at one time, which stained the paper label.
