This is a Marsh-McBirney Multi-Mag Model 284 insertable electromagnetic averaging flowmeter primarily used at water and wastewater plants. This one was factory calibrated for 8" ductile iron pipe. It is easily installed by drilling into the pipe being measured and installing a 2" fitting. This instrument already has a 2" valve and nipple. The control box is powered by 120 VAC. Setup is pretty simple. Warning! This manufacturer is no longer in business but this part of their line was purchased by another manufacturer. This is a fairly accurate instrument if installed correctly and is mainly used for monitoring a flowrate.
