Teflon Flow Meter, Range 0.5 - 6 GPM, Stainless Reinforced, 3/4" NPT
Most likely used for Ultrapure Water. This is a serious semiconductor-related flow meter. All the wetted parts are teflon in one form or another. It is reinforced using stainless steel. Even the 3/4" NPT fittings on the back are reinforced by"round" stainless steel(see last picture) It is as good now as it was when it first went into service. It's clean and pure. And of utmost Japanese quality. Probably worth $350 or more. The flow meter scale shows 2.5 to 25 liters/min(0.6-6 gpm) Specific Gravity = 1.19& viscosity at 1.998 cp. We used a 5 gallon bucket to coarsely verify the flow rate. We also poured distilled water into the flow meter. And let it sit. The resulting pH of the water was 7.5, which is essentially neutral. This again supports that it was used only for ultrapure water. I am familiar with the process on ... morewhich this flow meter was used. Flow rates that high could only have been water. And not chemicals. Thus I'm confused why the flow meter scale was not base on Specific Gravity = 1.0(that of water) If you are sensitive to water flow rates, then I recommend that you calibrate it yourself. Thus you can used this flow meter on water. As well as almost any harsh chemical(acids and bases) It is a very solid, industrial flow meter, weighing almost 3 lbs. There are mounting holes(threads) on the back side for mounting.
