EDM Indexing Pallet Rotating Grinding Fixture Hardened Ground Workholding This is a quality made EDM or grinding fixture made by a journeyman toolmaker. All surfaces are hardened and ground. The base is 5.200” square with 4 counter-bored thru holes for mounting with 1/4” bolts. The rotating fixture is approximately 4” square and has 4 end plates bolt on all four sides. These end plates have 5 total 4-40 threaded holes for work holding. The face of the rotating fixture has 12 total 1/4-20 threaded holes. 12 total 10-32 threaded holes and 26 total 4-40 threaded holes. The rotating fixture is locked into place by 4 T-nuts. I recently bought some equipment at a local high school. They happened to have a very nice South Bend 7" Shaper. When I went to pick up the machine I opened one of the drawers on the base cabinet. Inside was this set of indexing centers. The most amazing part was they had never been used. I actually had to clean the cosmoline off before I could see how nice they were! It even had the original clamping dog with it. In 1963 these sold new for $76.90. I don't know what that translates into 2014 dollars but I do know they do not make these anymore and you will not find one any nicer than this one. This is an indispensable device for cutting splines or flutes in shafts, laying out ... morework, gear cutting, shaping hexagons, squares, etc. Base has bolt holes for clamping on table of shaper, drill press, or milling machine. Takes work between centers up to 5" in diameter, 6" long. Revolving center has large dial graduated 360 degrees. Center is turned by worm gearing having graduated collar and ball crank.
