Homemade 24 x 24 Laminar Hepa Flowhood Perfect For Mycology And Other Lab Work!!
Hello all, I have for sale this 24 x 24 HEPA Laminar Flowhood set-up. Preassembled units in this size start at $1000 plus s/h and go from there. Building one yourself can be a pain and the parts are not cheap. Save yourself the hassle and have this one delivered to your front door! Specs- I don't have much information on the filter or the blower. I bought this from a mycology fanatic in Richmond who had all that information. But unfortunately I have misplaced it. What I can tell you though is that neither he or I have had any problems with contaminated lab work up to and including agar plates! The blower is a perfect match for the filter. Finish- As you can see the unit is in an unfinished state but perfectly functional. You can keep as is or just as easily give it a little TLC and turn this into a beautiful addition to your work area. ... moreI did add a little"drawbridge" style work area to the front which provides space to work and also keeps dust off the filter when not in use. Operation- It couldn't be simpler! All the wiring is done so all you will have to do upon receipt is plug it into the wall and flip the switch. The filter pushes out a ton of air. But the motor itself is whisper quiet. I had this set up in a spare bedroom and with the door closed it simply sounded like the ac was on. Very very quiet. There is no pre-filter as I keep my home extremely clean due to allergies. Shipping- Unfortunately due to the size of the box(25"x"25 x 27" shipping charges are extremely high. You will likely get the filter box and blower in separate packages. But don't worry.
