Come with plate in the sale. Has the number 200280 stamped on the back. Mint condition no damage of any kind. Plate reads: WHEN ASCENDING 6% GRADE WATER LEVEL MUST NOT REGISTER BELOW 2nd GAUGE COOK Came from inside the cab of a Missouri Pacific Railroad- 4-8-2- 5300 Series- Class MT-73- ALCO(American Locomotive Company) Made somewhere between 1921 and 1930. I know that the years are a bit of a stretch but that is all the information I got on the plate. This is just a speculation on my part. But I have had 30 years experience as a RR conductor and worked with bunch of old steam engine engineers before they retired. So here is what I think the conditions would ... morehave to be for this warning plate to come into play. Coming up hill your speed would more than likely be slow take more time to ascend the grade than descend. Therefore more time on the grade plus your at full throttle or close to it to pull the grade verses down hill more speed no throttle less time on the grade. With all that non-sense being said if your still with me it seams the water in the boiler would have time to run to one end even though it is baffled with tubing coming up the grade. Maybe create a boiler explosion? That’s my thoughts on it. Haven’t a clue what the last line on the plate means 2nd GAUGE COOK. Atocha 8 Reales pure silver coin with Mel Fisher COA. And original plastic flip. This is a Grade 3 coin with some nice qualities. This one is from the much more rare Mexico Mint, and comes with a very clear Assayer D mark. The entrire OMD is quite nice and the shield side is more like a Grade 2 quality coin. A Mexico Mint Atocha coin is a nice addition to any collection in a very nice lower cost entry point. The Cross is completely visible but weak overall with some detail present. At 23.3g, this is a very solid coin. A great piece of history. Helping my 87 yr old Dad sell a few coins this week. He only lives about 5 min away from the Mel Fisher museum in Sebastian.
