The purple and green background gives it a subdued tone. But the pinks are light and colorful. I am not sure if this is Vintage or Not. I do not know the history of the piece. It just seems a bit old to me because of the weight of the piece and the condition of the metal on the back side. I am not an expert in cloisonne art. But after examining this piece very closely, it looks to me like the artisan painted the picture on the metal, then came back later and painted a gold outline on the piece. My previous knowledge of cloisonne says that the framework is put into place and then each cloison is painted it's appropriate color. Does that make this a FAUX CLOISONNE ... morePIECE? Vintage 1920s 30s Art Deco dress fur clip - Silvertone - Leaf Motif - Lovely
Wonderful Art Deco dress/fur clip with rhinestones and a leaf motif that is unusual-c 1920-1930s. I think it is inspired by Trifari circa 1930s as to the similarity that it has to Trifari clips. But this piece does not have a signature. The back clip has gold overlay on it that has started to fade off, but this seems to be the only wearing to the clip. The clip is tight and all pieces in place, an excellent condition piece. I have included a link to a photo showing the resemblance to the Trifari pieces: This is from"Collecting Costume Jewelry 202: The Basics of Dating Jewelry 1935-1980. Identification and Value Guide, 2nd Edition" by Julia C. Carroll. Since this has similar style to the above piece, this helps date this piece.
