You are bidding on a vintage 1957 Fender Double Neck Dual 8 String Lapsteel Guitar. This is being sold in as-is condition as a total project and for parts. Somebody has really done a number to this. But would be great to restore or for parts. Original body is in decent shape. Looks like original finish has been stripped and a light coating of laquer has been applied. Inside reads: 5-57 for the date. There is quite a few original parts on this that can be used and salvaged: nuts. Frets, logo, pickups, and other miscellaneous screws and hardware. I think someone was trying to make this an early pedalsteel guitar, judging by the work. There are extra holes drilled, please view photos. All pickups appear to be original, I do not know if they are working or not. No legs are with this either. This is a great project. Serial# reads: 02622. Has two. 8-string necks, clear plastic fingerboards, off-white neck with totem-pole geometric markers, grey and black body. Body looks like it has been repainted at some point, but is still well-worn. No legs. Measures 35" x 11" x 3-1/4" Control panel is pitted and worn. Has knobs for tone. Neck selector, and volume. Includes adapter from original old-style jack to standard guitar cable. Has original case. But latches have been replaced. Case is a little beat up, but still works. This violin is from an estate collection. Untouched for many many years. It has no label, but we believe that it was professionally made in the mid 1800's or earlier. It measures 19" long overall, with 7 wide x 12" long back(not including button) It features figured wood back and ribs, with dark varnish. The scroll is well carved, with what appears to be an extra tuning peg hole for an additonal string(see images) It has an ebony finger board, with unusual placement for nut. The"f-holes" are uniquely shaped(see images) The neck is very very short, and the tail piece is very very long, with very little room for normal bowing making us wonder if it is possibly designed for pizzcato only. It has purfling on the top, but none on the back. It displays nicely. Old Roth case included. No bow. Condition: As-found/ not played ... morein many years. Old varnish, with overall wear to edges. No sound post. No nut. The top is loose at the ribs near the neck(old glue/ see images) Case is in rough condition with overall wear, but will provide good protection in shipping. It is a very interesting early instrument. We are not violin experts. Items are not MINT, and show signs of antique/ 100+ years age and use.
