Vintage Hardy"Palakona The Wye" 3 Piece Split Cane Salmon Fly Rod. This fabulous"Hardy's" Palakona The Wye" rod is in good"as found" condition and it has not been restored or repaired by us. The rod measures 12 foot 6 inches. including the handle) in overall length. The fittings and adjustable"screw-grip" reel seat to the butt section are in aluminium, these do show some minor patches of discolouration and the rubber butt end is a little rough and discoloured. It has"lockfast" joints. Which are all marked with the number"2" they have retained much of their original finish and are a good snug fit. All of the rings are present and ... morewell attached, the top and bottom ring are agate lined. The burgundy whipping is in good order and the joints have been whipped in copper wire for additional strength. There is no crazing to the varnish but there are one or two small chips and fading in colour to the whipping underneath the rings. There is also a small section in between the 4th and 5th rings to the top section where the varnish has lost colour. The top section of the rod has a slight kink or set to the right. The aluminum butt and reel ring has"Made by Hardy's England" and the number"H62331" 1964) Just above the handle the rod has"Regd. Trademark Palakona" The Wye" 9" and"12 1/2 FT" hand written in indian ink. The rod has its' original bag. The rod has a lovely feel when held. Well balanced, sturdy, and it has taken on a super depth of colour over the years. All in all this is a very nice. Useable example of a classic"Hardy Brothers" rod. She remarried in 1907 to Arthur Beavis Fennell, a grocer from Thanet, but he like Amy also died in 1912 after only 5 years of marriage. In 1891 Amy Wye at the age of 17. Worked as a Domestic Servant to Ann Robinson, a retired Hotel Proprietor, at Edgware House, Horsell, Surrey. In 1901. Aged 27, Amy worked as a Chambermaid at the Hotel Metropole, The Strand, London. This adapter is unmarked I couldn't find a make anywhere. I was told by the fire department where this came from that normally most items were made by Akron or Elkhart but we are unsure who made this particular adapter. The handles move but not very easily and there is quite a lot of dirt and grime on this item. This is either from use or from being in storage. The handles have quite a lot of grooves and dents in them and this is probably from being used over the years. One of the male ends does have a chunk out of the grooves. The female end ... morerotates quite a bit and I am unsure if this is supposed to be like that or not. This adapter is about 5" long and it is about 10" wide by including the handles. Gorgeous 1907 Keuffel& Esser wye level with Keuffel and Esser tripod. As complete as you're likely to find. Includes level. Lens cap, mahogany box with leather strap, lens shade, brass plumb bob, adjustment tools, instruction booklet. Also original K&E tripod with metal clad feet, wooden cap to protect screw mount. Serial number dates instrument to 1907. Instrument is complete and functional to the best of my knowledge. Optics are clear and bright, all knobs turn and operate. Wear consistent with 100-plus years of careful use: scratches and finish wear. All superficial, no dents or damage. The loop on the strap that would hold extra length past the buckle is broken, but the main strap looks original and still bears the weight of the box and instrument fine. There are brass tack heads or"feet" on the bottom of the box, ... moreone of the four is missing. All in all a remarkably complete and intact set of American engineering history. Hardy 1969"The Wye" 11' 0" 7 Split Bamboo Fly Rod A 2 section rod and 11' long for a#7 weight line. Rod number is M/B and built in 1969. Made from Palakona split bamboo with orange tipped crimson tyings. Agatipe butt ring. Fullopen bridge intermediates and agatipe end ring. Complete with bag and stopper. In very good condition. Sections are straight and correct length. Tight joint. Tyings and varnish are sound. Replacement end ring. Please ask for shipping costs within Europe.

Vintage David White wye level, restored showpiece for surveying, engineering
Very nice old David White wye level. Based on the serial number. It was built in 1936. Based on the factory engraving, it, at one time, belonged to the City of Oshkosh. It appears to have been either have been very well taken care of and used very little, or(as I believe) professionally restored at some point. It is very clean, the optics and crosshairs are very good and crisp. It appears to be fully operational but I have not tested it. The horizontal motion lock and fine motion knob work fine. The leveling screws all work fine. Really a nice piece. The scope is 18" long and the unit is about 8 1/2" tall and weighs just short of 11 pounds. The instrument also comes with original brass lens cap and sunshade. It also comes in the original wood box with leather strap handle. The box measures about 20" x 7" x 10" and ... moreweighs 8 pounds. The box has some scratches, scrapes and small dings but is solid. I bought it a while back from a retired concrete contractor who was going to take it to an auction. I offered him a fair price for two instruments and now want to sell this one. I can post more pictures, just let me know. Please as questions before bidding. I've started this at a very low price. Will sell/ship only to lower 48 United States.
