It measures on the outside 13 3\4 inches by 10 3\4 inches and the inside where it would recessed into a floor or wall is 12 inches by 9 inches and about 2 inches deep. The metal color is black and it has some wear. But not rusted or damaged and the lever on the top surface moves the louvers inside very smoothly, to close the vent if desired or have it open. Up for auction is a Decorative Vintage Victorian Cast Iron Round Floor Register Heat Vent Grate. The grate is round and it is a bit rusty color. But not pitted, with the residual original black paint. There’s a slide lever on the front that moves the three louvers easily. The motion is flawless and they stay open, or closed. There appears to be an"S" in the center of the design. It measures 8-3/8” in diameter on the front and 6- 3/4” on the back. And the back depth is 1 ¾” Please take a good look at the photos for the condition. This is heavy. And well made, with great detail. I have not seen one like it. Ornate Antique Heat Grate Louvers & Frame Original Paint S.M.&F. Co Milwaukee
Please use the Supersize Feature on our pictures at the top and below the description as we consider them to be a very important part of our auctions- our photos show great detail and they are about the next best thing to"being there" Here is a beautiful antique louvered heat vent or grate with the original matching frame surround. This great salvaged piece of restoration hardware was manufactured by The S.M.F. Co. S. Milwaukee. Wis. The back of each louver is marked with: S.M.F. Co. S. Milwaukee. Wis and 10 x 12. There is a thin crack in the cast iron across one one corner– to the right of the louver adjustment turn wheel. There are also three more small cracks in the pattern of the grate– all in this same corner. One is just over the flat tip screw, and two more, one on either side where the pattern meets the solid frame. Everything ... moreis still stolid, and it looks like these could be easy fixes with some spot welding. This heat vent set is in eggsellent condition. It still has the original black paint finish which is wearing off from use. There are areas on the frame that are rust colored. But this would be an easy fix since there is no rust damage or oxidation. The turn screw with ridges that you use to operate the louvers is in perfect condition, as are the louvers. They open and close with ease and there are no broken parts. This heavy duty and large frame for the heat grate is impressed on one side with 10 x 12. It weighs in at just over 6 lbs and measures 17 ¾” x 15 ¾” on the outside of the frame. The actual opening on the inside measures 10 ½” x 12 ¾” and the framed area for the grate is 11 ¾” x 13 ¾” The frame has a very classic design and shows wear to the finish from years of being walked on. There are no breaks, cracks, or chips on the frame. We gave it a quick cleaning with a bristle brush and a dry rag.it could use a more thorough cleaning and even a wipe down with WD-40. The louvered heat vent is heavy and weighs in at 11lbs. The top of the grate measures 13 &#

Antique Cast Iron Floor Grate/Register 16" x 14", No Louvers
Cast iron floor grate would be good for cold air return. I believe this use to have louvers. But they have been removed. Outside dimensions are 16" x 14" What remains of louver frame fits 14" x 12" Does need some light cleaning and new coat of paint. No chips or cracks that I can see. It does have small dent near one corner that is difficult to see. But overall in good condition.

The door has a solid Douglas Fir core covered with 1/16" Birch veneers. The door is flush on both sides, other than the wooden louvers featured on the bottom of the door. Please don't think that"veneer" means inferior quality. Unlike the paper-thin veneers used on modern doors and furniture. These veneers are 1/16" thick and provide strength and stability to the door. Vintage Pair of Wooden Shutters W/ Moveable Louvers Original Hardware Plantation
This is a pair of old shutters. They are wooden and one side is missing all the louvers. Item has original hardware and is in fair to good condition for it age. They measure 16" across and stand about 54 1/2" tall. The side with no Louvers is basically a frame and it needs repair. The other side has all its louvers but also needs some TLC. Both sides are painted with white lead based paint that will need careful handling until it is removed and disposed of. These are great original items that were saved. House was built in 1800's so they could be 100 years old but we aren't sure of age. Great items being sold for repurposing. Repair or parts. These can't be used or displayed in current state. Base has front panel with upper viewing window for gauges etc. Rear panel with two large rectangular openings for cables, hoses etc. plus has 4 rubber feet. Assembled unit measures 9 1/2" wide x 21 1/2" long x 14" tall(excluding handle) Base tray measures 8" x 19" My recollection is that this housed a small vacuum pump and controller for a turbo pump(none of these items included) the window was to view the turbo controller status. This is a beautiful OLD cast iron floor grill that is rectangular in shape. The top of the grille measures 21" long by 14" wide. The grille needs a floor opening of 19" long by 12" wide. Very old.in good condition. Has its louvers that work very well.one louver on one side has a small portion of it missing and this one louver doesn't open much.otherwise.
