Shimano SPD Shoes Boots hightop Size 43 / 9.5 insulated waterproof winter snow
Shimano SPD mountain bike boots in size 43/ 9 US. Model SH-FR80. These were sold as a cold weather boot and are decent for winter and early season days. Soles even work reasonable in snow. They are similar to the Sidi and Northwave winter shoes I've used previously for warmth. The cuff fits more open like a boot and provides some support, less like the neoprene cuffs making the right socks key in final fit. I used these for fall and winter riding and commuting. They are over the ankle/ high top shoes with minimal wear. You can see from the pictures there are some crank rub marks and scuff marks. But overall in great shape. Bottom is a tan/gum rubber type with minimal wear. These don't have any trail time or walking time and it shows. They are great for the cold seasons, I used them into the high 20's. The cuff is well insulated ... moreas is the toe box and base. They may not be as warm as the 45 NRTH or Lakes, but better for reality. Fit is like a summer shoe. Quality is classic Shimano: good stuff. If you want to use them with thick cold weather socks. Adjust sizing accordingly. They have good laces and a velcro strap for adjusting fit, so I'd say they would be great for cold weather socks if you size them as a 42-42.5. Maybe as low as 41.5.
