This auction is for a 1970s vintage plastic West Bend Thermo-Serv insulated pitcher in a daisy pattern with four matching tumblers. The pitcher stands 10-1/2” tall. Including the spout and is about 7” across at the widest point. The base color of the pitcher is an off white and the handle is white. It is perfectly clean inside and out, with no chips or cracks anywhere. There is a small dark spot on the edge of the spout, which actually looks like a production issue. The original Thermo-Serv label is still attached to the pitcher. The four tumblers are 6-3/8” tall and 2-3/4” across. There are no chips. Cracks or stains, and they are very clean. Thick solid metal that I believe is insulated. There are NO dents! Showing its age and loads of character. This piece has some rust spots although it is extremely minor for the age of this piece and there are absolutely NO areas of this piece even being close to rusting through. The bottom base is hallmarked however not everything is easily read from wear. I am able to make out PENNA( APPROVED SERIAL NO. F-13. PATENTED, JUNE 12, 1928, NO. 167_845 and it also has the word LIQUID on it however I can not make out the wording before that. I do not see any other markings on this ... morepiece. The last photos show the hallmarking fairly well although I did have to alter the coloring of this piece in my photos in order to get the markings to show. The precursor to Stanley Thermos. Bottom reads: Landers Frary& Clark Universal New Britain. Conn. USA along with 11 patent dates The latest patent date on bottom is 1917. There is also the number 9822. Possibly manufacture date of Sept. 1922? Fantastic Condition for almost 100 years old! No dents. No visible scratches, little sign of any use! This is engraved with"Hotel Medford. Milwaukee" with an elaborate design element. Really beautiful gray matte metal finish. Only the bottom is magnetic. This has heavy insulated glass liner. Includes original lid which I believe had some sort of cork stopper attached originally. Hotel Medford in Milwaukee was built in ... more1916.
