Old Vintage Model-UWJR Minn Kota Trolling Boat Motor
Up for bidding is an old vintage Minn-Kota electric trolling boat motor. This is a model UWJR which indicates it is capable of operating off of 6 or 12 volts. The motor on this unit works great and is very quite. The speed control knob at the end of the handle operates as it should. This is a 2 speed unit. I am not sure how old this Minn-Kota trolling motor is or how many pounds of thrust it's actually capable of producing. Also. This unit does not have a propeller, so you will need to buy one before you can use it. The original baby blue paint on the aluminum motor housing and the aluminum control housing will need to be repainted. It has faded over time and a lot has flaked off. The shaft has some surface rust and some rust staining, but I believe the rust staining will all polish out. The transom mount itself looks like it's missing ... moresome parts, but I'm not 100% sure on this because I'm not familiar on how this vintage trolling motor was equipped from the factory. Please have a look at the many pictures I've taken so you can determine this for yourself. The total height from the bottom of the keel to the top of the control housing is about 32 inches. This trolling motor does have a great old time look to it and it will look stunning once you put a new coat of baby blue is on it. Also. Old Vintage 1949 Mercury Comet 3.6 HP Outboard Boat Motor
Up for bidding is a 1949 Mercury Comet 3.6 horsepower Outboard Boat Motor. This is a Mercury Kiekhaefer"Comet" model KF-3 that was produced in 1949. This motor has not been run in years. But was told it ran before it was stored. I did attach a cord temporarily to the upper pulley and the engine sounded like it has good compression. From what I am able to see, the engine and carburetor on this motor looks to be intact. There is a missing cover that is supposed to go above the pulley. I asked the lady that I purchased this off of why this piece was missing and was told her late husband had taken it off in an attempt to replace the rope pull. I also believe there is a lower cover that is missing as well. The pull rope and pull handle is missing, but should be a very easy fix. There is paint wear and even places where the some ot the ... morepaint is totally gone, this is especially apparent under the gas tank area. The prop on this unit is in good condition. The transom mount is in good condition with no cracks or damage to the metal. One of the transom mounting fastener bolts is missing its flat circular metal end piece. But that should be an easy fix with a replacement piece. The gas tank has a few small dents and dings but they are minor and would not affect the fuel holding capacity. The aluminum shaft body and aluminum lower body appear to be in good shape with a few small scratches. Overall, this vintage outboard looks to be in good descent condition and should be a very easy restoration. The parts mentioned above that are missing are only covers and are not needed for this outboard to run. This is a very nicely styled retro looking outboard that would be absolutely stunning once it's restored. From what I've been told, this is a hard to find vintage outboard, but certain parts can still be found if they are ever needed. Shipping for this item will be $100 with tracking confirmation. As shown in the pictures. This is the motor with a crank for one of Edisons' Diamond Disc phonographs. There is also included the original wood handle from the speaker lifter which broke cleanly in two so just needs to be glued together. The unit alone weighs over 23 pounds.
