This is a high quality hardware MPEG2 encoder and decoder set for Mac. This is designed for real time encoding from a videotape deck. The software includes deck control and basic proc amp controls for video input. Creates DVD-compliant streams that will work with any DVD authoring program regardless of platform. The decoder lets you view the encoded MPEG directly onto a broadcast monitor. Which is critical for proper quality control checks. We used this to encode MPEG files on a Mac and author discs on a windows based professional authoring system from 2000-2003. It has been in storage ever since. And we no longer have compatible macs to test this in. Note that this does not include authoring software. Just the two cards and software CD.
