The handle is nylon with dark green nubs for a better grip. The handle measures 5 1/4” The thick French style wires are used best for mixing heavy food items. Very well made. Excellent item to add to your kitchen. This was used several times. And in clean condition. I did look up several of these on ebay. This lid is very big and sits almost flat when its upside down. Maybe a sixteenth of an inch off. There are a few dents but it doesn't look like it will bother anything.
