They are indicator cards and coal consumption drawings and lists. I'll detail them a little below so keep reading. I have many others listed and others coming so please look at my other auctions. The name was later changed to Delta Queen Steamboat Company. The company was started in 1890 by Gordon C. Greene with Henry K. Bedford In 2006 the Delta Queen Steamboat Company again was sold. This time to Ambassadors International, who formed a new cruise line called Majestic America Line, running now also the Empress of the North, the Columbia Queen, the Queen of the West and other ships. Since the exemption for the Delta Queen from the Safety at Sea Act expired end of October 2008 she is no longer allowed to carry overnight passengers. This is an original report to the United States Congress. Dated May 20, 1846, 39 pages, measuring 8.75” x 5.5” and very clean overall. It is a report with details describing the construction of“War Steamers” the vessel, including the placement and sizes of the cannons. They are to include two 12-inch guns for solid shot, at the bow and stern, mounted on iron carriages. The Paixhan Guns will also be mounted on iron carriages, the engines will produce 1,000 horsepower. Apcar Line Of Steamers, Calcutta, Mechanical Multi-Year Advertising Calendar
I have for sale a mechanical multi-year advertising calendar from Apcar& Company that was based in Calcutta. Apcar was owned by an Armenian family begining in the 1800"s and it comprised of workshops. Coal mines and a fleet of five ships that traded mostly between Calcutta, Singapore, Hong Kong, Amoy& Japan. The company was sold in 1912 to the British India Steam Navigation company. This calendar is aluminum, it is 1 1/2 inch in diameter and in a high grade circulated condtion, but it has oxidation marks that are found on aluminum. On one side around the rim it reads APCAR LINE OF STEAMERS- BROWNE& CO. AGENTS KOBE& MOJI. In the center it reads FAST SERVICE- TO- CALCUTTA- FREIGHT- OR- PASSAGE.
