F.Dick 8" Meat Cleaver- Professional Grade This beast of a meat cleaver weighs 2 3/4 pounds and is 15 1/4 inches long over all. It is made of high carbon steel from the factory in Esslingen. Germany. I am assuming it is fairly old, possibly from the early 1900's. It is forged steel and if you look at the pictures you can see that it is tapered on the tang and also vertically on the blade.
