The set was made in London by different makers as indicated below. i beleive that probably sometime in the 19th century. The set was given the uniform diamond pattern repousse work that it presently has. The all-over diamond pattern with floral motifs in the centers of the diamonds gives the set a very formal look, almost french in appearance. however, all of the marked pieces are by London makers and bear London hallmarks. The cream pitcher is not marked but is of a ca. 1800 form and construction. All measurements and weights below are close approximations. this means that i am weighing them on a kitchen scale rather than a jeweler's scale so weights may vary a few grams. This is an excellent condition used Hardy 9' 5 weight 4 piece fly rod. I was going to use it as a rod for guiding but ended up fishing it myself. It is a very sensitive rod. It is a very well made and well thought out rod right down to the cork reel seat which shaves even more weight off of this rod. It is a joy to fish. And of course it is in the ever popular 9' 5 weight 4 piece configuration which makes it a very useful rod. I probably fished it 4-5 times. I'm a Hardy dealer and it was new inventory in 2010 and it got fished a handful of times in 2010 but not since. The cork still has some new softness to it. The bag and tube are original but the cap is missing. I will try to hunt that down before the auction closes because I have seen it around. This is my personal Winston 8 1/2' 4 weight fly rod. And I have been the only owner. This is a classic Winston IM6 fly for a wide variety of fishing applications. Just Google it, and you will see it listed as one of the all-time GREAT fly rods. Condition of this rod is as follows: Rod has been used maybe 4 times total; cork is 100% complete, no breaks or pieces missing although has very modest soiling consistent with times used. Silver and wood in reel seat are in very good shape. Blank and remainder of rod are in great shape/could not be better. Rod comes with original Winston bag and rod tube.
