The plaque can be either hung using the attached wire. Or used freestanding with its attached stand. This plaque is in great condition for it's age, with only minor signs of wear, less than would be expected for an item of this age. In my 40 years plus of collecting. This is only the 3rd one of these that I have run across. Of the three I have seen, this one is in by far the best condition. The one I previously had, I could traced the history back as far as the 1950's, and it very likely reached back several decades earlier. A family insurance agency had picked it up when they acquired another agency in the 1950s. It was their understanding, that the previous agency had had it for years. Up for auction are two original insurance related signs. The first is a metal sign for The World Insurance Company out of Hartford. Conn. Sign measures 16" x 24" and is of a brushed, bright steel finish with black lettering. Condition is decent, with no paint loss. The sign does have random secondary small paint spots that it collected from being hung on the exterior of a building. There are also subtle bends in the metal, and the backside is unfinished with random black paint. The second sign is a sign for hail insurance, issued by a local agent in Wildwood, Alberta. Great vibrant colors, and measures 8" x 13" Appears to never have been hung. As for condition, it is decent, with bumped corners and time-related discoloration. Up for bids is an old advertising metal sign. Which had lettering that was previously painted over in magenta, for a long since defunct American Eagle Fire Insurance Company which was headquartered in New York City. I scraped off the magenta to see what company it was from, then repurposed the sign as a chalkboard. It has rust, dents, dings, amazing graphics and character. It can now be used for a number of things. The sign has a chain to hang it up on the back. It measures about 17 inches wide by 23 inches long. What a fabulous collection of insurance company plaques! There are 11 plaques. These were from a local Dallas agent. Companies represented: Travelers. Crum& Forster, Ohio Casualty, Fireman's Fund, Royal, Safeco, Republic and Trinity. Many of these companies have changed ownership and Royal is not even in existance today! Metal Thermometer Sign This measures 14" H x 4 1/2" W Printed in small letters on the bottom of the temperature scale is MADE USA I am not able to determine exactly what era this is from but KS is abbreviated Kan. This is in very nice condition with a couple very. Very minor light nicks. This still displays the correct temperature. The colors are vibrant. The white is white, and the letters/ numbers are very sharp. The thermometer overall makes for a very nice display in my opinion. Hello and welcome to my auction. Here is a very nice early National Fire Insurance Co of Hartford. This sign is brass with the Logo being etched. This is surrounded by an oak frame. There is a plaque on the back that states that this was made by the Premier metal etching co Long Island City New York. This measures 16 inches by 28 1/2 including the frame. Overall condition is pretty good.

I am offering a ca. 1930s The Liverpool& London& Globe INSURANCE Brass/Metal SIGN Perpetual Calendar Insurance agent sign. This is one I haven't seen. Straight from the estate of a former agent. Heavy brass and metal sign, with typical wear from use, but overall in very nice shape with strong colors and graphics as you can see. This is a one sided sign, PLEASE NOTE: The first side pictured is the original painted with the perpetual calendar with all the months, days and date, and the other side is naked brass. It was made by The Premier Metal Etching Co. Long Island City N.Y. I assume this was a company issued. This is a really nice vintage advertising calendar. It is in good shape. Some water damage that is really old. The surface of the brass shows what looks like calcium and staining. The sign is Brass not tin and could be professionally polished. All the cards have damage from the water but all the cards are there. All 12 months, All the days of the week and all the dates. I imagine it probably was in an agent's office at one time. It measures 12 in x 18 in. I got it at a local auction. This would look fantastic polished. 1900's ''Acadia Fire Insurance" Canadian Porcelain Sign--Early !!!!
This is a"Acadia Fire Insurance Company of Halifax" Porcelain 1-Sided sign and it is a VERY early one. It is made with"rolled iron" which is indicative of the earliest porcelain signs. It is a Canadian sign made by"Marsh Bothers-Toronto" and was used in Halifax. The dimensions of the sign are 15'H x 21"W. The condition can be seen clearly in the detailed photos I provided. There are surface scratches on the face of the sign probably from being shifted around for years from one place to another. The sign is very heavy as the rolled iron was a very thick guage metal. here is a#22 stamped in reddish porcelain on the back of the sign and I think this was the Model# of the sign. It is still very shiny and glossy and displays very nicely. The mounting holes are very nice as I am not sure this sign was ever ... moreput up. They are excellent pieces and for a reasonable price getting two historic train prints framed with a product tie in seems like a great deal. These two are so nice out of 41 signs I thought that they would sell first. Shadows are affecting the image. This complete print looks good. I collect and sell some fairly expensive watercolors and oils and also a few lithographs. Considering this steam locomotive print is connected to the origins of a great American company and the image is in in excellent connection. This is special for various reasons in my opinion. Check his name on Askart and this painting should show up. Stratford is a busy small city in the SW corner of CT, not far from NYC. Notice the rural look which was how it looked in the 1800's when trains were becoming so important to Americans for traveling and moving products. I have two of these lithographs of trains by the HSBI&IC, which has to be the longest name for any insurance company. Don't think that it is a small company though. This listing is for one reproduction oval cast fire mark representing the Mutual Assurance Co. 1784 for the Philadelphia Homeowners Insurance Company. The plaque is made of I believe cast aluminum(seems to light to be cast iron but still non-magnetic) with a rough textured yet detailed paint finish. The front image is raised and shows no rust and very little paint scrape. The back of the plaque is concave to the front image. It has the reproduction stamp(see pictures) that reads"MUTUAL ASSN. CO. 1784" on the right hand side and"3750" stamped on the left hand. Along the top left rim on back is a two inch section where the cast was not cleaned out(see picture for detail) Items measures 10-3/4" tall and 7-1/4" ... morewide. I do not know the true age of this piece. It is a reproduction not an original. It is a very clean item that would make a great addition for any collector of firefighting or insurance company memorabilia. This is marked Organized in 1829 The Franklin Fire Insurance Company of Philadelphia Cash Capital $1,000,000 also marked lower right corner Brilliant Mfg. Co Phila Pa, Has Ben Franklin and hand pumper in the center, in nice oak frame, the sign is made of metal, Over all in good condition, has a blemish on the finish under the word Insurance, there are some spots on the front which I believe will wash off and a few spots of paint that flake off, measures 27 1/4 inches wide and 18 1/2 inches high, has wire hanger on the back.
